ALT Algonquin Park's Ice Out is Coming! — Most lakes along Highway 60 in Algonquin Park remain partially ice covered, but the remaining ice is fragile. This view of Lake of Two Rivers is typical of most lakes showing a thin grey/black ice cover that could be removed by heavy rain, strong winds, or a few days of warm conditions. Monitor the status of spring by observing conditions at Lake of Two Rivers about every 15 minutes at https://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/news/ice-out.php A special thanks to Killarney Lodge for partnering with The Friends of Algonquin Park to provide updated views of Lake of Two Rivers. #AlgonquinPark #Ontario #Canada #lakes #iceout #spring #nature #parks #KillarneyLodge

#Algonquinpark’s official “ice out” is when a boat can navigate from Opeongo’s access point to the top of the north arm. After this weekend I’ve got my hopes unreasonably high that it will be soon. In the meantime, here are some very much ice free pics from last year.
