Given Rocket-Man is signaling that Cyber Truck may be going tits up, think about how cool it would be if you had grabbed yourself a DeLorean when DeLorean Motor Company was circling the drain?

When I moved into a new apartment recently with my bedroom window overlooking Soi Cowboy, I was a little worried about noise.
Well!
With the Windows’s closed, my bedroom is very quiet. But open, the urban hum of a thousand air conditioners blends with the constant soft rumble of far off traffic. Added to that is a confluence of music, laughter and chatter barely audible from within the neon-lit, pulsating reflections bouncing softly off high-rise window panes.
It’s X rated white noise, a little like listening to a rainstorm or the ocean, only naughty.
Anhnhunguyen98 posted this pic on IG with the caption “it’s your birthday.” Recently, it indeed was my birthday. But frankly I’m at the age where I’d just rather have some cake then climb all them stairs to meetup with her.

Cambodia’s new U.S. Ambassador, Christopher Anderson, is on his way to Phnom Penh.
He stopped in Hawaii for meetings with U.S. military leaders and regional security officials before heading to Cambodia, where the ambassadorial post has been vacant for more than two years.
There are interesting patterns afoot.
Below, Jacob posts about expansion of US Treasury/DOJ sanctions against Cambodia’s Prince Group holdings.
On his way to his first day on the job, US Ambassador to Cambodia Chris Anderson stopped in Hawaii to chat with military brass overseeing S.E. Asia.
At an ASEAN meet up of regional Generals in Cebu last week, US Secretary of War Hegseth singled out the Cambodia/Thai conflict and ceasefire as being important while sending a BFF message to the Thais.
Two weeks ago, Assistant Secretary of State Michael Vance began talking with the military Junta of Myanmar, ostensibly about law enforcement.
Thai PM Anutin is actively engaged with Myanmar clashes near the Thai border ordering F16 flyovers.
Old US anti communist, civil society style pretexts for foreign policy initiatives are gone. Law enforcement is the new on-ramp for US interests.
Next week I am attending the Global Anti-Scam Summit Asia 2026 here in Bangkok. There’s a new paradigm emerging.
US Sanctions 23 Cambodian Companies Linked to Prince Group, Details Tokyo Mansion Transfer
Prince International Airlines, CB General Insurance and Asian Welfare Lotteries are among 23 Cambodian companies sanctioned by the US Treasury in its latest action against Prince Group. Treasury also says executive Chen Bo transferred ownership of his Tokyo mansion to his wife, Cambodian national He Yujing, after the first US sanctions in October 2025.
He Yujing is now sanctioned, along with Cambodian Prince Group associate Visal Pang. Treasury says Pang controls 11 Cambodian companies, including Marco Polo Hotel, Cambo Duty Free Merchandise and U-Life Kh Super App, several of which he co-directs with Chen Bo. Chen Bo, who was sanctioned in June, remains in control of another 11 Cambodian companies. He Yujing owns the remaining Cambodian company, Super Light Speed Kh Technology.
The November 5 action sanctions four individuals and 41 companies linked to Prince Group under Executive Order 13581, as amended. Treasury says the network helped senior executives conceal assets, evade earlier sanctions and maintain access to international financial services.
Among those newly sanctioned is Qiu Yong, a Prince Group associate who holds passports from Cambodia, St. Lucia and Türkiye. Treasury says he controls companies in Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands involved in money lending, wine distribution and other businesses.

Yesterday the stock market went down, a lot. Pundits of all descriptions are doom-maxing to the max.
Here’s what actually happened. On Wednesday the DJIA went up 3.03%.
On Thursday it went down 3.44%. As of this morning the DJIA is down 0.51% from Tuesday.
Put down your phone, kiss your honey, reject doomers.

My geopolitical shenanigans meter is in the red. Last weekend, US Secretary of War Hegseth was vocal at an ASEAN conference about how US & Thai military are BFFs.
US Assistant Secretary Michael Vance has opened direct talks with Myanmar’s Min Aung Hlaing, ostensibly on scams. However State Dept strategy explicitly ties peace efforts to accessing Myanmar’s rare earths.
Yesterday Thai PM Anutin stepped up border security and the Thai CDF warned the Myanmar attaché over spillover fighting.
Something up?

TLDR: The quoted post is about a political scandal in Alaska. The villain’s name is Kurtz.
In “Apocalypse Now,” Kurtz was a once promising US patriot corrupted by power in a Cambodian jungle.
The original Kurtz was a Dutch patriot in Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” who was also corrupted with power over native Congolese.
Alaska Kurtz’s minions wear mittens.

Funny, X now has an "under the hood" function where you can check to see if your content has been algorithmically moderated.
In a comment on a @CandymanBKK post, I put up a video of Goldie Hawn dancing in a bikini from the 60s tv show "Laugh In." The algorithm restricted it as adult content.
Meanwhile two weeks ago I posted a pic from a Buriram, Khmer theme park of a pornographic Khmer style carving. The stone Khmer relief replica showed a woman grabbing the erect penis of a man while he pressed his hand against her breast. The algorithm overlooked that.
Super Intelligence is the new label?
Yeah, naw.

Just when you think the rainy season is over, in rides a wicked witch level storm turning the kitchen crew of Ekamai Moo Kata into damage control.
In Bangkok older Yank expats pontificate about the last fifty years of U.S. policy in the Kingdom, often with drunken embellishments of their imaginary participation in the intrigue. Meanwhile, telling them what's happening now puts them to sleep.
Sigh, I'll keep writing about it so when something blows up, I'll have established a digital paper trail
According to CNBC, The FBI just tied the $6.3 billion Binance hack to North Korean hackers. A criminal theft is now a sanctions evasion and rouge regime finance event. This matches the pattern I’ve tracked for 15 months. Law enforcement, indictments, warrants and joint task forces are used as the operational predicate for foreign policy.
The Bangkok War Room / Anti-Cyber Scam Center with the Thai police was the early, successful experiment. FBI embeds, multi-country summits, large seizures came out of Jacob Sims’ analysis of Cambodian scam centers as state-abetted. Then the FBI & big tech seized $15 billion and crushed the Cambodian criminal economy.
The model expanded. Caribbean tanker seizures on warrants, Maduro on an indictment, a new U.S.-Greece law enforcement Memorandum of Understanding are examples of US foreign policy applications born in the sandbox of the Thai War Room.
Four days ago, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth cited U.S. support for the Thai, Cambodian ceasefire as practical ASEAN cooperation. That border flare-up arose within the dynamics of USAID Cambodian money cessation and the creation of the Thai/FBI War Room Command Center ops. The military is in the sandbox too.
Just as the complexity of the war in Vietnam and anti-communist policies of the US State Department/CIA/USAID/NGO complex had big second order effects on Thailand, so too will current policies. I'll do my best to spotlight them.

Two days ago I wrote about how Tether stablecoins have back-door, government controled freeze buttons. They just got stress-tested at an historic scale.
The US Secret Service is tracing funds from Binance’s $6.3 billion hack, working with the US Attorney’s Office for DC, That's the same office that runs the Scam Center Strike Force in the Thai War Room against SE Asia scam compounds.
Tether froze ~$1.57bn in USDT. Circle locked more than $800m in USDC. This is State level, crypto stablecoin kill switch implimentation in real time. Thailand’s tech and crypto ambitions sit right in the middle of this. BBC live updates:

The person who corrected the grammar on the FLOTUS letter below illustrates the moral foundation of left wing, humanities graduates. They truly envision themselves both intellectually and morally superior because of their arcane knowledge of academic rules and anecdotes.
I’m NOT endorsing this ad, just using it for show & tell, adjacent to my story.
Using the LTR visa’s website, I began my application process for an LTR Wealthy Pensioner Visa at the end of February 26. It took 3 months to complete the process.
Then it took another month to renew my passport, which is done by mail now, a nerve wracking experience. I should have done the passport renewal first.
I’m easy. I have US income statements (1099s) and my tax return to show straight forward, legitimate income. And I purchased health insurance coverage from AXA, a Thai company that writes policies designed for LTR approval.
The quasi-government agents that operate in between the applicant and immigration are typical Thai clerks, hyper-polite, rule minded young people with zero authority to make decisions.
All questions and problems take days, sometimes weeks, to resolve. All interactions were online. Ai driven customer service always began with me receiving meme-like boiler plate responses. It often took two days of inquiries to get a human in a chat.
The instructions are abstruse, poorly translated and compressed to provide instructions to several different types of visas in one confusing statement.
I’m good at this stuff. I have experience with bureaucratic administration. And I’m a low level techie type.
I live near a copy place adjacent to the Bang Chat BTS station where I could easily fulfill the many demands for specially crafted PDF files containing my papers.
There were 3 requests to resubmit forms proving I had health insurance coverage. Each request required another trip to the copy place and took over a week to complete.
The LTR Visa is not a ten year visa, it’s five. After five years the applicant must reestablish their eligibility, but you don’t have to pay again. So it’s a five year visa with a free renewal.
There is no 90 day report requirement. But if you do not leave the country, go out and in, you must report your address in person annually.
I visit the states twice a year, so this is not an issue for me. But if you’re not a traveler, you have an annual address report requirement.
If I had known this going in, I may have paid the 35,000 Baht ($1030.00 USD) for an agent like my show & tell picture. Or maybe I would have simply continued renewing my retirement visa that I have had for 10 years.
It is nice to have the LTR now that it’s done. But it is more of a pain in the ass to get than the PR portends.
