Hidemasa Morita, 25 | A metronome in the number 6 role for Frontale. An average of 79 passes p90, he keeps the ball moving, mostly over short distances but also with line breaking passes too. Patroling infront of the back 4 he offers important defensive contributions too.
Ao Tanaka, 22 | A talented player attracting much interest. Usually plays as a DCM but we chose a number 8 profile to showcase his stats. His high energy means he's equally adept at getting on the ball deep as joining in higher up the pitch. Could develop into a top all-round CM.
Kaoru Mitoma, 23 | 12 goals & 9 assists this year is some great output. His underlying numbers are also fantastic. He's in the top percentile for almost every key creative metric. His direct 1v1 style is tough to stop. He'll surely make the jump to a top-end Euro league soon!
Team Focus | Kawasaki Frontale
Kawasaki recently claimed their 3rd J-League title in 4 years. Averaging 539 passes p90, 16 SoT p90, scoring 82 goals and conceding just 28 - Some crazy numbers! A quick scan of their squad turns up some top talents, let's take a look.....
"Box-Throw-ins" is just one of the many customised metrics in our TransferLab V2 Data-scouting platform.
Visit analyticsfc.co.uk/software for more information.
Christian Schwelger, 36 | FC Luzern
Box throws p90: 2.5
Bonus stat: Long passes 5.5 p90
The truth is Schwelger is a dwindling force in the Swiss League. Gets off a few long crosses from deep. He is still getting some minutes at the age of 36, no doubt for those throws.
Podium | Box Throw-ins
Long throws into the box, or "Box Throw-In" rely mostly on clean technique (and a bit of oomph!). They're also fun to watch when executed well.
We used TransferLab to identify the three players with the highest xG contribution from Box Throw-ins:
New Metrics | Box Throw-ins
Throw-ins have become a target for clubs to make a marginal gain. There is a growing trend of throw-in coaches such as Thomas Gronnemark @LFC
With TransferLab we can easily create custom metrics. A fun new metric we recently added is "Box Throw-ins"
Podium | Direct Free-Kicks
The beauty of direct free-kicks stem from their difficulty. They've approximately 6% probability of converting into a goal (around 1 in every 17). We used TransferLab to check out players with the highest xG from direct free-kicks in world football....
Taking a deep-dive into a chosen league like this is made easy with TransferLab. Here's a quick look at the search and filter functionality in the platform:
Eric Ramirez, 22 | Rough diamond with an asking price of €1.5million. Might scare off some mid-tier European clubs, but with development could be a handful and maybe become ready for a bigger stage. 6 goals and 5 assists have propelled @DAC_1904 joint 1st after 15 matches.
Branislav Sluka, 21 | Sharing the U21 Slovakian LB position with Alex Mojzis. Has 4000+ mins of senior football under his belt already. His attacking quality, especially in transition, certainly catches the eye. Another player to come through the excellent MSK Zilina system.
David Strelec, 19 | Tall but mobile. He can come deep to support and has the technical ablity to link play. In the box, his movement is very good and so far his finishing has been first class for @SKSlovan, 6 goals in 10 matches so far this season. Very interesting prospect.
