A Major Snowstorm Condition has been declared in Toronto. Parking on roads designated as snow routes is prohibited.
This helps City crews clear and remove snow piles that obstruct traffic flow, interfere with pedestrians and parking and block sightlines. Emergency service vehicles rely on clear roads to respond quickly to emergencies.
⚠️ Vehicles parked on snow routes may be fined up to $500 and will be towed at the owner’s expense if the vehicle is blocking snow clearing or transit.
A list and map of snow routes are available here:: toronto.ca/services-payments…

Traffic fatalities in 2025 were the lowest in five years. The highest age groups for fatalities were 23 to 34 (11) and 65+ (13).
Traffic collisions remain preventable and road safety continues to be a priority in 2026.
Please take extra care with our most vulnerable road users when you're behind the wheel. Don't rush your decisions on the road. Avoid being distracted by your devices and lower your speeds to make sure everyone gets to their destination safely.

🚦 Blocking the box = danger for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. It causes delays, disrupts transit, and creates unsafe conditions.
Wait until the road ahead is clear. Keep everyone safe and avoid unnecessary fines!

Our officers are working hard to keep rush hour routes clear.
Obey the signs or pay the fines.
#DowntownRushHour - on Richmond Street #Toronto seems like a legitimate construction closure. Conversation with the foreman reveals no permit - no construction happening on the road - just a convenient place to park. Charged and removed off the rush-hour route ^bm - congestion management project underway.

It was great to sit down with the dedicated @TrafficServices officers who work to keep Toronto’s highways and streets safe. Their downtown gridlock campaign is changing poor driver behaviours including no-stopping and parking on rush-hour routes and blocking of intersections. Everyday they patrol city streets, the DVP & Gardiner, attend to victims of collisions, work to reduce congestion, facilitate traffic safety plans around major sports and entertainment events that our world-class city is proud to host. They are using their skill, experience and training to keep millions of people safe and moving.
