TLDR Jez literally said:
He knew about the “problems” with token transferability long before launch, but thought they would find a solution.
Turns out they couldn’t, and the token will never be transferable.
They changed the mint curve so that the supply is no longer trending toward 12B. It’s now essentially infinite.
(Check the image, the blue chart shows the previous mint curve and the other one shows the new one lol)
So maximum dilution for stakers, and it’s much harder to avoid getting diluted.
So if you haven’t broken even on your investment yet, it’ll be way harder to do so now with the dilution + revenue will go down massively as people now know they’ll never be able to sell their PAPER = they can afford to lose way less than before
Meanwhile, the team keeps earning cash exactly the same way (already pocketed around $10M btw 👍🏻)
Nice rug ggwp

I mean Sam Altman was working on iris scan with his World project, so he probably saw it coming.
But human verification is probably needed across the board now for each account.
$RDDT doesn’t require much so platforms like that are first to be manipulated.

💫 ENGY SN53 – BURNING ALPHA💫
The usage dashboard was the first tell. The buyback page is the cash tell.
provider.engy.ai/buyback
Revenue buys SN53 alpha and burns it on-chain. So far:
• 2,891.59 α gone
• $18,844 of value burned
• 11 prints from 12 Aug to 28 Aug
• paid through at about $6.50–$7.00 per α
The 12 Aug opener was a lump - 1,140 α / $7.2k in one shot. Hide that and the tape is cleaner.
What is left is a rising series.
25 Aug: $1,527
27 Aug: $2,687
28 Aug: $3,471
Three burns. Each bigger. That three-day stack is about $7,700 - the same dollar size as the first lump, except this time it is sequential.
Monthly Shape
Do not annualize the $7.2k opener. Do annualize the recent cadence, with a label on it.
If the last week’s pace held - $2.5k–$3.5k every day or two - the buyback run-rate sits around $50k–$70k a month. That is what the community “monthly $” overlay is showing after the 12 Aug spike is hidden. It is a pace, not a closed month. One quiet four-day gap and that green line falls over. One more $3k print on a short gap and it holds.
Lifetime $18.8k over two and a half weeks is closer to a ~$30k–$35k month if you smear every dollar including the lump. The interesting number is the higher one: the book has sped up.
That cash did not only come from one contracted hose. The team has been flagging an uptick in organic traffic as well as testing. New users in the group. Kimi request share rising, then fewer Kimi calls but heavier, cleaner jobs. Qwen filling the gateway when the cheap lane runs hot. That is what organic looks like on a subnet: walk-in volume plus trials, not a single invoice.
Burns are the part of that mix that leaves the building.
Kimi price goes up 30% on 2 September and is still cheap versus official $3 / $15. GLM-5.3 is live at 30% below the public API. Volume on the 28th was back to 1.36 million requests / 14.6 billion tokens. Demand outran supply on the scarce model, so they are raising price and still pulling organic use on the rest of the catalog.
Still small against a $1M contract. Still not Requesty listed.
It is the first public loop that paid inference - organic and otherwise - is recycling into a thinner alpha float, and that the last week’s burns are the largest since day one.
Watch the next one. If it holds the $3k area, the $50k–$70k monthly pace is a trend. If it fades, the 25–28 Aug window was a burst.
Until then the direction is the one you want. Usage up. Organic in the mix. Price being defended. Burns getting larger.

At BlueTAO.ai I wanted to create an AI chat / coder / etc using the best bittensor/$TAO subnets.
I benchmark-tested every AI model hosted by @chutesAI and @engy and optimized for quality, speed, cost.
The winners:
- chat: GLM 5.2 hosted by Engy.
- coding: Kimi K3 hosted by Engy.
You can see the full Chutes Vs Engy benchmark results plus the actual tests here. Qwen 3.8 put up a good battle. benchspec.vercel.app/
Other subnets I use: @desearch (for search), @bitmind (for deepfake), @chutesai (for image and video and music), @targon (a fullback), @hippius (not released yet but for storage on deploying your own apps.

$TAO The Snowball Effect ⬇️⬇️👀
🚨🚨ENGY SN53🚨🚨
The snowball is starting to form on Engy - large contracts are forming.
For months the story was product and potential.
Now the pieces that create a real flywheel are lining up.
There is a large backlog of Kimi K3 demand.
The team is talking about contracts at $1M+ per month and conversations with businesses valued in the billions.
To deliver them they are buying their own B300s, raising the hardware bar for miners, and finishing the TEE + whitelist paths so mining power can be directed at actual paid demand.
This is where the snowball effect becomes powerful.
Sign the first large contract and everything changes:
• Revenue jumps by an order of magnitude overnight
• A real reference appears for the next enterprise buyer
• Miners see sustained paid demand and invest in better hardware
• Capacity and reliability improve
• The next $1M+/month conversation becomes easier to close
• More usage flows through the network
• More alpha gets bought and burned
Each signed deal makes the following deal more likely.
That is the definition of a snowball.
Request volume is already accelerating - Epoch 9 matched most of the previous epoch’s traffic with only a quarter of the time elapsed. Other Bittensor teams are routing production workloads through Engy. Buy Back & Burn is live and removing supply on-chain.
The missing piece has always been converting pipeline into closed, high-value revenue.
That is exactly what the team is now organised around.
The contracts still need to close and the B300s still need to land. Execution remains the variable.
But the logic is clear:
One large deal funds the next.
Credibility compounds.
Usage compounds.
Burns compound.
Most subnets are still waiting for the flywheel.
Engy is building the conditions for it to run.
Position wisely.
