I was conceived a Republican, born a Republican and I will die a Republican but I will never ever vote for Ken Paxton to allow a lazy, corrupt cheater take the Senate seat of the Great State.
Texas Republicans, get behind Ken Paxton.
You’re not voting for a pastor. You’re voting for a fighter.
I don’t care about his affair. He’s not perfect. I care about his policies.
No one took the fight to Biden harder or did more to protect Texas. Without him, this state would have been lost.
Send him to the Senate. Make him the Trump of the Senate.

This is tremendous from @DavidAFrench and reflects the anger & betrayal so many people have felt under Trump. I'm often critical of presidential policies, but this is the first time in my life that my government seemed to truly hate its own citizens.

Open letter to my dad.
Recently, you said that trump attacking my farm was not personal; deal with it.
Attacking my business was not personal; deal with it.
Cutting off funding for my wife and her cancer research was not personal, and deal with it.
And how great trump was doing…. And deal with it.
Yesterday I had to have a tooth extracted; it was painful. But not nearly as painful as hearing my dental hygienist, whom I love, was just served with deportation papers. She is here legally with her 3 children from eastern Ukraine. They escaped the war, where she was a dentist and had a full practice there. Her sister, a citizen, sponsored her. She has a job, she pays taxes, and she used to like it here. She didn’t take anyone's job; the practice had the job opening for over a year. Trump just changed the rules, and just to be a shit head, said Ukraine was no longer in danger, and the TPS and visas of all Ukrainian women and children were canceled, and they have 60 days to pack up and leave or face being attacked by ICE as criminals. They now have to go back to Ukraine, they have no home, no job and temple will not have her in a job they need. For what??????
I have news for you guy, 80% of the US population like Ukraine. And this is personal.
Trump has sunk the republican party, if he ran today he would be lucky to get 30% of the vote. I would love to debate you on that from now blue TEXAS.
You can continue to hide behind your bible while you praise a pedo and liar who is stealing from the USA and making golden statues of himself.
How can you still follow trump when he promised to help suffering marine vets with the contaminated water lawsuits ONLY if he won the midterms. Former Marines are fucking dying due to the Camp LaJune water, and Trump said he could have the DOJ do the right thing today. But he is now not going to due to losing the midterms. How can you, as a “proud Marine, and a patriot, be ok with your brothers and sisters being attacked by Trump like that???
I warned you what was coming and due to trump the dems now control the country.
I would say at this point that YOU helped trump, that means YOU gave the country to the dems… if as you say I am not a patriot for pointing out what was coming..
What does that make you?
I'm sure the fact that Trump will have a ballroom will comfort you when you know that for the rest of your life the Dems will have control of the country… and yes, you helped that.
If we had done the right thing and elected Nikki Haley or anyone else, this would not have happened. But no, you wanted revenge against biden, just like a lot of other MAGAs.
If being a trump supporter makes you a “patriot,” then that word has the same meaning today as loser.
I love the USA, im a conservative, I don’t hate the Rs and I don’t hate the Ds, I saw and warned you what was coming. And I hope that after trump and the magas are gone we can fix things. But that day is not here yet and Rs need to clean things up inside the party or they will never have the government again. and the first thing that needs to happen is that trump needs to pay a price for what he is doing.
no hate, just the truth

This seems about right. And yet Republicans spent hundreds of millions of dollars in Texas running ads about transgender issues. Every campaign consultant should quit (they can all retire from the $11B spent nationwide this year anyway), and future candidates should just use AI to run their campaigns. OR…here’s a crazy idea, future candidates could read books and get educations and research complex policy topics and be honest about the tradeoffs with any given policy. That could work…if voters will actually incentivize it. And that is a big “if.”
Made Grok and Claude hash out the exit poll data to get a more complete picture of voter sentiment. Notably, they concluded Iran was an accelerant on issues, but not actually the top issue. Their concurrent conclusions actually mirror a lot of public opinion polling that was showing up in the weeks before the election.
1Cost of living and inflation. 79% say inflation caused their family severe or moderate hardship. 62% blame higher prices more on Trump's policies than on factors beyond his control. 65% say his policies worsened the economy, against 27% who say they improved it. 75% rate the economy poor, 44% say they are worse off than two years ago, and 39% named the economy the top issue. BBC · AP via PBS · NBC
2Tariffs. 64% say tariffs hurt the national economy (D 78–19), and 63% say they hurt their local economy (D 79–18). Only 15% say tariffs helped their area. That is the most lopsided policy verdict in the poll, and voters judged it by their own towns. NBC
3Government corruption. 90% called it a crucial or major factor. About half called it "crucial," a larger share than for immigration, Iran, or AI, and about 6 in 10 say Trump puts his own interests first. About 4 in 10 voters who called it crucial still went Republican. BBC
4The Iran war and fuel costs. 63% say the attack was the wrong decision, against 37% who say it was right. 74% called the war a crucial or major factor, though only about a third called it crucial. 59% are "very concerned" about gas and diesel prices. Gas averaged $4.15, about $1.11 above a year earlier, and diesel averaged $6.29. About a quarter of Republicans say the war was wrong. BBC
5Democracy and checks on Trump. 32% named the state of democracy the top issue, and about 8 in 10 of them voted Democratic. About 7 in 10 say Congress isn't checking the President enough, including about 4 in 10 Republicans. 43% voted to oppose Trump and 16% to support him. His approval stood at 38%. BBC
6Immigration (the GOP's floor). 14% named it the top issue. Republicans kept a small edge on the issue, and it mattered more to Republican voters. Even so, 57% say enforcement has gone too far. BBC
7Healthcare. Democrats held a wide advantage here, but few voters named it the top issue.
8AI and data centers. It ranked below corruption and cost of living, and voters split on which party handles AI better. 61% opposed new data centers near them.
Context: 38% of voters were angry and 37% dissatisfied. By group:
•Women went D 58–40.
•Voters under 45 went roughly two-thirds D.
•Hispanic voters went D 62–35.
•College graduates went D 62–36.
•Non-college voters went R only 51–47.
•White voters went R only 51–48.
Just under half view Democrats favorably, against about 4 in 10 for the GOP.

And a special, heartfelt greeting from Ukraine goes out to outgoing House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Yes, the very same Mike Johnson who, for six months, at the behest of his boss, who wasn’t even president at the time, disgracefully refused to bring the Ukraine aid bill to a vote, even though the U.S. Congress was perfectly ready to pass it.
I hope the fallen Ukrainian soldiers and the ruins of Avdiivka will haunt your dreams.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

Born in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, which continues to face relentless russian attacks, Spartz became a MAGA Republican and voted against a major aid package for Ukraine in 2024.

1/ How’d we get here? It all starts 100% with vouchers. That’s when rural Texans began to wonder if statewide Republicans really had their best interests at heart. We can all point to that single issue and what the Governor did afterward to his long-time allies.
I know this much is true🎶⬇️⬇️
Americans don’t like chaos, narcissism, tariffs, corruption, Putin, rudeness to our allies, arrogance & indecency. The GOP should embrace our roots: free markets, economic freedom, peace through strength, federalism, law and order, low taxes, pro-life… and we should act like leaders of the free world.

There will be an effort by some to blame communications, or political advisors. But make no mistake - this utter rejection of the President’s 2nd term is a rejection of his POLICIES: tariffs, War in Iran, aggressive ICE tactics, + massive corruption/ profiteering off of office

Welcome to the Republican Resistance. Dear Democrats,
You do NOT have a mandate to go woke and give your extreme base whatever they want.
You are RENTING this coalition. You do not yet own this coalition.
Don't make the same mistakes Trump made after winning in 2024.
Govern accordingly

For the last two years, the Trump Administration has been governed by a simple mantra: “We can just do things.” On Tuesday, voters replied, “So can we,” and wiped out the GOP. This was not a blue wave. This was not a blue tsunami. This was the breakup of a winning coalition.
Those voters, in breaking up the coalition, treated downballot races as proxies for their contempt of Washington, D.C. The race for dog catcher became nationalized because of Republican political malpractice.
In 2024, Donald Trump assembled a multiracial and multiethnic coalition of voters who bristled at the progressivism of the Democrats and the wreckage of the economy. By 2026, Trump and his White House acolytes set that coalition on fire to cater to a group of hyperonline grievance mongers who have confused Twitter with real life.
Last night, the American constitutional system worked as designed and worked so well and so thoroughly that the party that lied to itself in 2020 that it had lost only because the election was stolen is now lying to itself that it lost only because of gas prices and war. Last night’s drubbing was too complete to be theft.
It was gas prices.
And it was the war.
But it was also calling affordability a “hoax.”
And it was also the corruption.
The incompetence.
The tariffs.
The playing nice with Russia while treating our allies worse than our enemies.
The impression of cruelty.
The overly aggressive deportations.
The accidental arrests of American citizens who were Hispanic.
The arrogance.
The ballroom.
The reflecting poll.
The golf courses.
The arch.
The Qatari 747.
The aggressive redistricting push.
The threats against enemies.
It turns out a weekend Fox and Friends host might not be a reassuring beacon of competence to Americans.
Gas prices and the war cannot explain a wipe out from top to bottom in Texas or Georgia or losing South Carolina or Ohio or a total coast to coast wipe out. Only the simpletons can believe that.
Adam Hamilton won Finney County in Kansas, which was a Trump +35 county in 2024 and he did so with Hispanic voters. He did not do that just because of war and gas prices.
And shall we talk about Mississippi?
A few weeks ago, Bo French in Texas attacked University of Texas students who were American citizens of Indian descent. A portion of the President’s base cheered him on. Even some within the Administration, on public Twitter accounts tied to the Administration, echoed him. Those voters’ parents repudiated the racism in the GOP and wiped out Republicans in Texas, not because they support the Democrats, but because the party they had supported turned on them. It was political malpractice by the GOP.

.@JamesTalarico: We didn’t win by alienating our neighbors, or by shaming our neighbors, or by ridiculing our neighbors. We embodied a new kind of politics. A politics rooted in a deep love — for our state, for our country, and for all of our neighbors.
My faith teaches me that love is the strongest force in the universe.
Love is not passive. Love is not neutral. Love is not weak. Love requires that we stand between the bullies and the bullied. Love requires that we look evil in the eye and not blink.
Love can heal what’s broken in America.
