I deleted my original post when I thought the dealership would attempt to resolve this. They told me that they do replace overhead compartments under the extended warranty, just not MY model number 🥴 So, here we are.
If anyone is debating whether to buy a @VW, PLEASE RECONSIDER. Aside from last year’s debacle with the audio system, this year, the entire overhead compartment crashed down on my head. Apparently, VW KNOWS that it is an issue.
Knowing that, I STILL had to pay for this defective plastic compartment because I was out of warranty on a five year old car with less than 50K miles. The utter nerve and temerity of it all. Imagine my car melting or dry rotting to pieces and being rung up for over $800.
Wait! So the service agent at @VW told me that even if my car was still under warranty, it still wouldn’t be covered because the sun melting my car would be deemed “an outside influence.” What in the whole entire world?!
