The NYT just released a map on gun violence post Covid based on racial demographics. I’ll post below for any curiosities. Frustrating read, hopefully it will trigger a lot of solution based conversations. nytimes.com/interactive/2024…

“Learn how slaves took advantage” Be clear, there was nothing advantageous about slavery. This gotta be the twilight zone.
Want the truth on Florida’s African American History Standards? See statement below from experts who crafted them. “Any attempt to reduce slaves to just victims of oppression fails to recognize their strength, courage and resiliency during a difficult time in American history.”

This list is supposedly of enslaved people who "developed ... trades from which they benefitted" but nearly all of these people were either never enslaved, or never held the jobs described on the list. Some examples: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Cobb en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_How… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_For… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_W… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_Was… Here is a summary of the errors on the list: twitter.com/etotheipie/sta…
