Here's a graph of how Explain has grown since we launched it 👇
Almost 200,000 explainer videos created in September alone 🤯
I know people say this all the time: but I truly did NOT belive it would grow this fast.
Feeling privileged to be able work on a product that so many people enjoy.
Thank you to everyone using it 🙏

🚀 Scrimba is looking for freelance coding tutors!
We’re looking for engaging and motivated teachers to work with us on a freelance basis to create the courses that make other platforms jealous.
You’ll be familiar with common web dev technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, React/Next, a Node.js framework) as well as Python.
But we care just as much about your ability to explain, engage and connect with learners as we do about the technologies you know, especially if you’re a quick learner!
English does not need to be your first language, but you must have clear, easy-to-understand spoken English.
You’ll be able to devote at least 30 hours a week to producing Scrimba courses.
Bonus points for:
* Python data analysis and/or backend experience
* DevOps knowledge
* Familiarity with the Scrimba platform
* A good sense of humour 😁
Interested?
Drop Head of Education Tom Chant ([email protected]) a message with a little about yourself, your experience, and a link to an example of you teaching (could be an existing YouTube video, or why not record something on Scrimba!?) or to ask for more info.
And if you know someone who’d be a great fit, please tag them or share this post! 📷

Software development roles grew 15% over the last year while the overall job market declined 5%.
That’s a 20% gap, up from 16% a month ago.
What a narrative violation.
The Deployment section is live in the Backend Developer Path. 🚀
Getting an app running locally is one thing. Pushing it to production, keeping it running, and debugging it when something goes wrong is another. This section shows you how it's done!
You'll cover:
🐳 Docker
🌿 GitHub + Render
⚙️ Build commands + Node environment
🌐 Domain names
🗄️ Database problems
🧪 Smoke tests + staging
🔀 Merging
🔔 Alerts + notifications
❤️ Health endpoints
📡 Processes + signals
15 lessons, 11 challenges, 75 minutes. Built for backend learners who want to ship. 🚢
Continuous Integration (CI) is how professional dev teams keep their codebase clean and their deploys stable. Now it's in the Backend Developer Path, taught by @thedonofcode.
You'll get comfortable with:
⚡ Building GitHub Actions pipelines with YAML
🎨 Automating code formatting with Prettier
🔍 Enforcing code quality with ESLint
🐳 Containerising your app and pushing to Docker Hub
🔒 Protecting your main branch with PR status checks and branch rulesets
For anyone working towards their first developer job, and beyond!

Don’t trust your AI agents.
Here’s Opus 4.6 fabricating results, and then trying to cover it up.
It only admitted it after I confronted it with my own research.

→ Fixing mistakes instead of panicking when something breaks
Built for beginners. Perfect if Git has always felt intimidating.
