For the next two weeks, our artists in residence will be filling #TownerSummerSchool with colour - they are off to a flying start!

This week we are working with James William Murray, who will be exploring construction, abstraction and writing with us

The art world is very visual, as part of her work, Heledd tried to consider works using more sensory language and considering senses other than just sight.

Heledd considers sound as a felt thing as well as a heard thing

Sound art is about listening as much as it is about making noise.

Sound as material is how Heledd likes to work. She uses sound to interact and interpret a space

So, what is sound art? To Heledd it means exploring sound of materials, like instruments, sounds through material like with speakers and sound as material

It's the first of our artist talks today. We are hearing from Heledd C Evans, a sound artist who has been working with us this week as part of summer school

So fab to see the I am Who I Am #LGBTQ youth group marching at @PrideEastbourne with the banner they made for #DrawMeIn, our children and young people's exhibition earlier this year 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Thank you! Elmer always goes down well, and the piece we are looking at is full of sporting connections 👍📚🎨🏃🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

We've got a busy weekend ahead of us, so on Sunday at 1230, join us @townergallery for a relaxed storytime for under fives and their grown ups in TEN.

I've already heard someone say "this is the best training day I've been on." That's mostly down to the wonderful artists we are working with today. ☺️👍

We are working with over 40 staff from College Central, who do vital work with at risk youth in Eastbourne and beyond, on an INSET day to help the team develop their creative approaches.

Calling all artists! We are recruiting for Artists in Residence to work with @TownerGallery on our #ArtSchool over the summer. Interested? Details here townereastbourne.org.uk/arti…
