Funny that you dickhead as under EU reciprocal agreements, that you voted against in 2016 and encouraged 17 million other gullible voters, we could have done exactly that. These muppets make me furious! We are ruled by absolute clowns and donkeys. news.sky.com/story/tory-depu…
Just learned Michael Fabricant has been knighted. I have had my head under the sand for a while and come back up to find the world (or at least the U.K.) has truly gone mad and the honours process is literally worthless. I’m truly sorry to those who actually deserved the honour.
As a care provider and an (ex) Conservative voter, I literally have no words left to describe you lot @Conservatives
I’m finding it a bit rich listening to NHS and LA commissioners pay their own support staff circa £17-£18 per hour in some areas and then claim poverty when we ask for increases in fees just so we can pay RLW.
We are ran by horrible little men and women who have clearly ‘forgot’ - “lest we forget”. History has a habit of repeating itself where we do not learn.
Great analogy. Arguably when it comes to seeking better outcomes and lives for people maybe Social Care and NHS should be viewed the other way round. They are certainly both essential for a healthy nation (and economy).
Replying to @neilmcrowther
If the NHS is the expensive toy you buy in the store, then Social Care is the batteries it needs to work.
Cuts to local budgets by 90%, European Social Fund gone and we haven’t got a government who can join up the dots and understand things will cost more. news.sky.com/story/the-commu…
'The community stuff that makes us feel good doesn't happen anymore': Can councils survive spending cuts?
This headline should read ‘Just 14% of people are happy with Social Care’ - sadly we are at the back of the queue for funding and headlines news.sky.com/story/unhappine… Unhappiness with the NHS has reached record highs - but the public still supports it
There we go - I’ve put it right. As good a read as it is however I doubt this publication is on very many U.K. coffee tables. carehomeprofessional.com/wor…
This story could quite easily have applied to social care - I’ve never seen genuine care leaders feel so low and depressed over the state of our sector news.sky.com/story/headteach…

And it was meant to be a budget in getting people back to work. They’ve not joined any dots and seen the opportunity to invest in results. Sigh (again)!
Today's #Budget2023 is a missed opportunity to plug the £7bn adult #socialcare funding gap, widening to £9bn next year. Government urgently needs to deliver a long-term, fully funded plan to meet the needs of older and disabled people and carers, prioritising the staffing crisis
I thought this guy knew what he was doing given he was so vocal on the back benches on the subject just 1yrar ago local.gov.uk/about/news/lga-… #sellout
Tip of the iceberg, I’m afraid to say - Social Care needs investment now before we end up having to care for people in large institutions for lack of staff due to poor fees news.sky.com/story/woman-say…
Woman says she feels imprisoned after carer shortage forces her into care home
“A thought that never changes remains a stupid lie”, New Order lyrics describes the never ending talking shop that is Social Care. I’m convinced endless meetings are now an industry in their own right. Dilnot deemed SC as ‘not fit for purpose’ back in 2011 and nothing’s changed.

Nurses deserve more pay, but #socialcare staff worked with NHS colleagues during Covid and deserve parity. @SteveBarclay & @RishiSunak #socialcare is not fixed. Local authorities need the £7bn @Jeremy_Hunt suggested ‘just to stand still’. If #SocialCare fails NHS care fails too
Where on Earth are they going to discharge people to; social care is in a worse state @SteveBarclay @SkyNews - urgent funding isn’t hitting front line news.sky.com/story/hospitals…

Tragic - root cause is chronic underfunding of social care = collapse in capacity which impacts the NHS and it is spiralling downwards rapidly. The government must urgently recognise and act to avoid total catastrophe. news.sky.com/story/they-said…

NHS leaders more concerned about this winter than any previous one.
Whilst citing that being unable to discharge well people from hospital being the problem there is not one mention about lack of investment in Social Care being root cause of this!
Now onto the 6th Health and Social Care SoS in under 5 years! It’s little wonder the system is absolutely knackered. Coffey’s ABCD, I think we are onto WXYZ and the end of the line for the NHS and good SC providers. Prepare for the US hedge fund backed providers to emerge.
