In my opinion;
Taylor’s music is only understood once the individual goes through the events she writes about. That’s when the clockwork kicks in. People will never hold an open heart for stories that wouldn’t come close to their reference point, untill they do.
don’t get me wrong, people coming around to ttpd is a wonderful thing. it’s truly taylor’s magnum opus, argue with the wall. however, watching people realize it’s good in phases is incredibly frustrating. i don’t fully understand why this happens, but there’s a phase of it going on right now. suddenly there’s a bunch of content of people saying “wait, ttpd is actually really good.” it’s as if changing your opinion on the music becomes a trend. but if you suddenly decide it’s cool to like it now, why couldn’t you have listened to it and given it a fair chance before??? we’ve been trying to tell you it’s an outstanding piece of art since day one!!!!! why did you wait until a bunch of new people suddenly switched up on it to jump on the bandwagon???????? IF YOU WOULD JUST FORM YOUR OWN OPINIONS YOU PROBABLY WOULD’VE LIKED IT FROM THE BEGINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
