As usual Mis-Representing missions without Triple Lock as ‘Peace-Keeping’ -Completely False -All future non UN Mandated Missions will be ‘Peace Enforcement’ -‘Coalitions of The Willing’ ‘Stabilisation Forces’ -Removing Triple Lock will commit future Irish soldiers to War Fighting
✍️ The Triple Lock is no longer fit for purpose - in @businessposthq, I share my thoughts on why reform is necessary.
If we keep this self-imposed restriction in place, we place our proud tradition of Irish peacekeeping abroad at serious risk.

Sad news. @TortoiseShack does welcome non aligned voices. Anthony is not the only one. RIP.
Really sad to hear about the passing of the great @astaines. We weren’t politically aligned, but his calmness put up with my impatience. He will be missed by all who knew him. Ireland, unknowingly, owes him a debt of gratitude. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam

This is an important PalCast. They all are. But this first person testimony about the Palestinian experience of Israel’s “administrative detention” is must watch/hear.
Abdulkhaliq Burnat is a Palestinian law student from the village of Billin, in the West Bank. He was jailed for a total of 5yrs in Israeli jails, 4 of them were under administrative detention without charge or trial. He shared his story on the @TortoiseShack PalCast - out now.

Grateful to join PalCast to discuss #IfYouCannotSayGenocide, why naming Israel’s genocide in Gaza matters, and poetry as a form of “spiritual journalism.”

Palestinian Teacher Arwa Alzraiy joins us on the @TortoiseShack from Gaza to discuss the current situation and how, even now, the IDF is controlling the education of students in her school. Please listen/watch. She’s a remarkable, no-nonsense woman.

Two takeaways from this rather bizarre article.
@davidmcw has a very poor grasp of Marx & Marxism and an even poorer grasp of Sinn Féin housing policy.
But when your bar is late night Dalkey dinner party conversation then who needs facts or informed opinion!
