Every agent should have a secure supply chain with everything it needs, and the right amount of isolation to keep it on the rails.
No matter if it is running in herdr, github actions, tmux, or remote orchestrated runners.
And of course this should be done with Minimal.
i’ve been giving Rex a ton of love, but am I sleeping on herdr?
y’all want demos? herdr-min sandbox plugin? 👀
also, thanks for the continued love, here’s another 50 microvm’s to celebrate. 200 ⭐️
It ran all night super reliably too, I’ll do more long running workload tests for those inclined to run agents forever on their box.
every agent needs to run code somewhere.
we made that somewhere a box on your machine. it shouldn’t always have to be in the cloud.
just run `min`
github.com/gominimal/minimal
475 tools are natively available in the minimal agent runtime today.
we build every one of them ourselves for two reasons:
speed: snapshot restore is the 1996 way to start an agent. we're fast af, without shipping the junk.
trust: we track upstream pkgs, build and cache in hours, slsa l3, sbom included.
run your agent in minimal today.

The team behind minimal is moving fast these days!!
We shipped minimal 0.5.2 today!
Your agent wants its own machine, let them have one on your laptop.
min init any repo → claude, pi, codex, etc run inside a Linux microVM with only the tools your minimal.toml declares.
50+ new packages updates, session lifecycles and dash, the minimal tui shipped this week.
have your agent take it for a spin.

if security people are one thing, its honest about how you can improve things.
pumped to be at Blackhat this year. Already so much to do when i'm back to improve minimal.
If you're using agents, you should give it a spin.
🤝microVM isolation + attested supply chain🤝
minimal.dev
Pumped to share we just open sourced Minimal.
I've talked a lot about sandboxes here, shared some early workflows, and talked to a bunch of you about what we've been building this past year.
I've said it in many ways, but bluntly, the primitives we use to run agents today are broken from a security standpoint.

First is @cmd_security. They're funded by Google Ventures and make a Linux security tool that restricts account actions and provides visibility into account behaviour. It's a simple concept, well executed, and they're going to make a gazillion dollars.
