Systemic #DeMarketing driven by over-reaching #FINTRAC rules is forcing legal, tax-paying Canadian businesses out of the financial system. @FP_Champagne @FinanceCanada, @CanadianPM why are automated banking algorithms allowed to exile small businesses without warning or a right to appeal?
As the federal government tries to assure us all that ECONOMIC SECURITY is their main focus in these trying times, we are discovering we have far more to fear from the policies of our own gov't than we do from foreign tariffs!!!
I do not know if Chris Nolan intended for his movie to be so controversial, but it is and is causing widespread political upheaval.
It is very easy to prove the mythological character of Helen of Troy was intended to be white by the author, Homer. Firstly, he described her as "white-armed" and secondly, she was said to be the daughter of the Spartan Queen, Leda, and Zeus. Spartans aren't mythical. They were a real people with a real history and origins. The ruling class of Sparta were Dorian and anthropological records show the Dorians to be Caucasian.
Helen of Troy is not just a mythical character. She is a Greek cultural icon. I think it is patently stupid to mess with any culture's icons this way. It only became widespread knowledge in the past few days, but the Greek government gave Chris Nolan the equivalent of approximately $6 million USD of taxpayer money to help fund the production. Now the people of Greece are livid and I think that is perfectly understandable given the iconic character of Helen is being portrayed by an ethnically African woman rather than a Caucasian actress who is more representative of the Greek people.
The debate is fierce so it is going to be interesting to see if the controversy brings out movie patrons in droves to see what all the fuss is about, or if this extremely production is going to flop because it decided to play into American politics rather than simply honour the original work.
I have a problem that I'm sure many of you can understand and probably even grant some sympathy.
So much comes up in my Feed and the first thing that springs to my mind, that I want to respond is, "You are an idiot."
That would not be considered a polite response, but is it acceptable? Should I respond how I feel?
For over 15 years I have been involved in housing the mentally ill, the drug addicted and those with situational issues. I do this in tandem with non-profit agencies that offer support to various "hard to house" individuals. I am a representative of the property owner.
Deb, you are both right and wrong in what you're saying. You are right that homelessness is not as simple as just a "housing" problem, but you're wrong because you don't identify it as a very complex housing problem.
Those who are "chronically" homeless are so because they do not function the same as you and me. They require a massive amount of SUPPORT if they are to succeed in maintaining a roof over their heads. So, there IS a problem in housing in that there isn't enough of it where people of like problems can be grouped together in a way that makes providing support to them, possible. One here and one there isn't going to work. This is much known and it is for this reason that I am involved in a project, right now, where I am the Project Coordinator for the construction of an apartment complex of 85+ units that will be dedicated to those with various mental health issues, partnered with a Not For Profit Agency that offers such support.
Imagine the worst predictions of the economists for Canada's future come to pass and in a couple of years from now, Canada is nearing bankruptcy. The only viable solution is to join economic forces, at the very least, with another entity. There are 3 invitations. They are the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
In a referendum, how would you vote?

A long-form interview with Pierre Poilievre about all of the issues currently facing Canada.
Pierre Poilievre (@PierrePoilievre) shares his vision for making Canada the world's best place to build a life—with practical solutions for a more prosperous future.
TKP is not a political podcast—and won't become one. I've invited both major party leaders to share their visions because I'm deeply concerned about how public discourse has degraded into angry soundbites. We've lost the ability to explore complex issues with patience and good faith. This conversation is my small effort to model what better dialogue might look like.

I know that Pierre Poilievre is absolutely correct, here. However, even if there is doubt about it, we Canadians deserve to know if such conflicts exist.
Mark Carney has been asked about these things on the campaign trail, but instead of speaking to them, he gets visibly "annoyed" and deflects by castigating the one who dared to ask the question. Now he's suspended his campaign for the third time, in the middle no less, so that he doesn't have to face voter scrutiny.
We can't allow someone like that to be the head of our country's executive, the PMO.
Please, look into the LPC track record with Mark Carney as its financial advisor since 2022 and take a deep look at his personal connections and conflicts of interest. Don't vote LPC. We will all be sorry should they win a fourth term.

There are warnings and warning signs.
Carney and the Liberal Party would be very, very for Canada.
We've already had the lost decade. Please don't give them any more time.
Dan Knight's warning: "Mark Carney isn’t interested in dialogue. He wants obedience. He doesn't trust Canadians to discern truth from fiction. He believes it’s the job of government—his government—to curate the national conversation, to protect citizens from wrongthink, to act as referee over what is and isn’t acceptable discourse. In short, he wants Ottawa to become the Ministry of Truth."

This is EXTREMELY important!! Please check into this yourself, to confirm its authenticity, and then go to the polls to vote the Liberal Party OUT of our government.
🇨🇦 The Liberal government just handed out $40 BILLION with ZERO oversight.
No debate. No vote. Just a signature from an unelected Governor General—rubber-stamping a regime that’s ruled without accountability for over six months.
What the hell is going on?!
Carney came into public view but a few short months ago when running in the Liberal leadership race. Despite never having won any election in Canada, he became the de facto Prime Minister until this upcoming election on April 28th.
A great number of people are finding it extremely concerning that Carney flat out REFUSES to answer questions Canadians have a right to ask. He is not transparent about his foreign business affiliations, financial status, tax shelters, etc. The fact he grows "angry" when confronted should be seen as a very large, waving red flag by voters.
Mark Carney’s campaign is crumbling — also his credibility
He’s been SILENT for 2 days after explosive revelations about tax havens in the Cayman Islands & he got the Chinese govt friendly 🇨🇦 association's website pulled after he was shown to have lied

Bob Fife of The Globe and Mail on CBC after Mark Carney’s hissy fit where he claimed not to have met with people and an organization that he did meet with.

This is, in my opinion, the most significant endorsement for @PierrePoilievre and the @CPC_HQ yet. Do your own research into the signatories and their respective companies. These are Canadian Titans who have, for decades, invested in our communities and help build our economy. Those on the left wanting this to be a “résumé – measuring contest“ have officially lost that battle.

Uncle Mark creates crisis to manage them. He is actually the worst leader possible as he is incredibly deceptive with a mighty globalist propaganda machine behind him. Beware of Uncle Mark; fall for his tricks and you may end up owning nothing.
