Outage update: Thank you for your patience, understanding and support as our crews worked to restore power to 65,000 customers following the September 2 storm.
As customers return home after the long weekend, some may only now be discovering storm-related issues at their property. If you’re without power and don’t see your outage reflected on our outage map, please let us know so we can help you.
Our crews remain in the field carrying out cleanup and repair work across the system. This work includes removing fallen trees and vegetation, repairing damaged poles and electrical equipment, and responding to reports of branches on wires, sagging wires, flickering lights and voltage fluctuations.
Your safety remains our top priority. Please stay at least 10 metres away from downed powerlines and report any hazardous situations. Never approach, move or attempt to repair electrical equipment or hydro infrastructure.

Outage update: Power has been restored to approximately 64,900 customers since Wednesday's severe weather event, with about 100 customers still without service.
We recognize how difficult and disruptive this extended outage has been for affected customers and their families. Crews continue working around the clock to restore the remaining outages, addressing extensive storm damage, ongoing safety hazards and a significant volume of repairs across the system.
For some customers, storm damage has affected electrical equipment on the customer side of the meter. In these cases, repairs must be completed by a Licensed Electrical Contractor and approved by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) before service can be safely reconnected. We're working closely with affected customers and dispatching crews as locations become ready for restoration.
Our focus remains on safely restoring power to every remaining customer as quickly as possible. We thank our crews, contractors, emergency partners and customers for their patience, understanding and support as we complete the final stages of restoration.

Outage update: Power has been restored to approximately 64,820 customers since Wednesday’s severe weather event, with about 180 customers still without service.
Crews continue working around the clock to restore power. Restoration remains complex in some areas due to extensive damage, hazard mitigation and a high volume of repairs. Teams are repairing damaged equipment, clearing downed powerlines and addressing safety concerns as they work to restore service to the remaining affected customers.
In some cases, storm damage may affect customer-owned electrical equipment. Where repairs are required, they must be completed by a Licensed Electrical Contractor (LEC) and then inspected and approved by the Electrical Safety Association (ESA) before Toronto Hydro can safely reconnect service.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

One of the biggest challenges during storm restoration is the extensive tree damage.
Before power can be safely restored, we must disconnect power to make the area safe, and specialized forestry crews must assess, cut and remove fallen trees and large limbs from powerlines and hydro equipment.
In many cases, trees become intertwined with wires, poles and other equipment, requiring careful coordination between forestry and hydro crews to safely clear the area before repairs can begin. This process is essential to protect the public, our workers and the integrity of the electrical system.
We recognize the significant impact these outages have on customers and appreciate their patience and understanding as crews carry out this critical work to restore power safely and reliably.
Our crews continue working around the clock with additional resources deployed following the September 2 severe storm that impacted neighbourhoods across Toronto.
As of this evening crews have restored power to 63,000 customers reducing the number of those without power to approximately 1,200. While our restoration progress is advancing, crews continue to address substantial damage across the city including large fallen trees, broken utility poles and downed power lines.
We know how challenging it is to be without power heading into the long weekend, and we thank our customers and the community for their patience as our crews continue restoration efforts. We remain committed to restoring service to affected customers.

Our crews continue to work around the clock to restore power to the remaining customers affected by yesterday's storm.
We recognize that some customers continue to be without power and understand how disruptive that can be. Safety remains our top priority, and our teams remain fully committed to restoring service safely and as quickly as possible. Restoration efforts will continue overnight and until all customers have been restored.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. For updates overnight, please visit our outage map: torontohydro.com/outagemap
The September 2nd storm was one of the most significant weather events in years, causing extensive damage to trees and electrical infrastructure.
At the peak of the storm, approximately 65,000 customers were affected and as of the next morning more than 90% had been restored. Last night, crews restored power to another 2,000 customers, bringing the total number of customers still impacted to fewer than 2,500. Our crews have been working around the clock to restore service as quickly and safely as possible, and that work will continue until customers are restored.
The remaining outages are among the most complex to restore. Crews are responding to hundreds of reports of downed wires while also addressing significant storm damage, including broken utility poles, downed power lines and very large fallen trees. We know how difficult and frustrating it is to be without power, especially following a major storm. Access challenges and the scale of the damage can make repairs more difficult and time-consuming, and crews continue to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.
We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding, and we thank those who continue to report outages and safety hazards. These reports help our crews assess conditions, prioritize response efforts, and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
