WOW 🚨 If you have a printer at home you need to hear this
This American has been using her HP Printer at home for 5 years. It’s always worked fine but it kept asking her to connect to WiFi. She’s never connected it, but after nonstop notifications being told she needed to connect it to WiFi or she will lose the ability to print, she finally connected it
Now her printer wont print
She’s been using cheaper ink in the printer for years, it’s about $40 cheaper per cartridge and works the same
As soon as she connected to WiFi the printer updated to restrict the use of her printer with non-official HP INK cartridges
She’s so upset she’s in tears and losing it
I looked into this and they’re doing it to everyone
The message is “The indicated cartridges have been identified as altered or cloned. HP printers require original HP…”
That’s the exact error HP uses when Dynamic Security rejects a cartridge chip.
Connecting to Wi-Fi is how the printer gets the firmware that tightens those checks.
HP’s own docs say firmware updates over the internet “will maintain the effectiveness of the dynamic security measures” and can block cartridges that worked before
The second she connected her printer to WiFi she made her printer unusable unless she pays double the price for the same ink
The future is the past. We will all have desktop computers and simple phone terminals everywhere again.

The people screaming the loudest about “AI Safety” are the last people I’d trust with power over AI.
Every horror story they tell somehow ends with them in charge and the rest of us asking permission to do anything.
It’s the same type of envy that's behind communism. Weirdo freaks lashing out at the Good, the Beautiful, and the True. They would rather make everyone equally miserable than watch free people build something great without their permission.
Other people’s success offends them because it proves the world can move forward without them running it.
Sorry, but I’m not handing the future to a bunch of bitter control freaks who think their personal misery gives them the right to run everybody else’s life.
I mean just use your eyes and look at these people, you should have blood memories running through your veins with every biological alarm ringing at full blast saying "DANGER STAY AWAY."

It is deeply concerning that someone of his education and stature, a Harvard graduate and partner at @ycombinator, would feel totally free to openly express outright contempt for the so-called flyover country, 85% of the lower 48 of American citizens.
He retains enormous influence over which founders receive funding and which hiring practices are normalized, and through his work and organization can have policy effects reaching up to the national level.
His disgusting bigotry reinforces the stereotype that he, his family, and others like him have brought with them from their home countries an immutable, irrefutable generational tribal, ethnocentric, discriminatory mindset.
Gupta and his racist ideas, as well as his advocates and supporters, must be denounced in the strongest possible terms.
