We’re really looking forward to welcoming Colin Roy, one of Topic of Cancer’s patrons, to our Purple Ball: Shades of Purple on Saturday 14th November!
Colin is a talented singer, songwriter, actor and producer who has performed in the West End, and we're delighted he'll be providing some of the entertainment on the night.
If you haven't booked your tickets yet, we'd love you to join us at the Harbour Hotel in Guildford for a great evening supporting cancer research.

Just one month to go until our Purple Ball!
We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Harbour Hotel in Guildford on Saturday 14th November for an evening of good food, entertainment, dancing and fundraising.
Did you know our ToC Voices health choir is FREE?!
It's open to anyone affected by cancer, whether you're a patient, recovering from treatment or a carer. And you don't need to be able to sing, read music or have any experience.
It's simply a friendly group of people who enjoy singing together, having a laugh and supporting one another.
We meet every Monday evening in Guildford, from 7–8pm, and you can join us on Zoom too.

Have you watched our new Topic of Cancer video yet?
It's a really good insight into the cancer immunotherapy research we help fund at the University of Surrey, where donations go and, importantly, what this research means to patients.
You'll also learn about our free support services, including ToC Voices and ToC Fit.
If you have a few minutes, please do watch and share it. We'd love more people to know about the work we're doing here in Guildford!

Immunotherapy has transformed treatment for many cancers, but has been far less successful in treating glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Researchers at The Wistar Institute have found that targeting two different types of immune cells at the same time could help overcome some of the barriers that prevent immunotherapy from working.
It's early-stage research, but an encouraging development in understanding how immunotherapy could become effective for more types of cancer.

Some of the research we help to fund at the University of Surrey is looking at the importance of exercise during cancer treatment.
Exercise can also help with some of the physical and mental effects of cancer treatment, including fatigue, strength, mood and general wellbeing.
There’s still lots to learn about exactly how exercise can support cancer treatment, and this is an exciting area of our current research.
