I was watching my tortoise today and thought how perfect our relationship is. He's a tortoise and I know that he can't do things for me, I can't ask him for help or expect him to do something. He's just living in my apartment, eats food and brings joy by simply being. The reason why I have no expectations of him or don't ask him anything is because he's a tortoise and, for example, isn't unable to hold objects or to answer a phone of to cuddle 😁 I thought a lot how relationships with humans can improve if I take a little bit of that attitude I have towards my tortoise. No expectations and just enjoying his being. We all have different upbringings, backgrounds and experience world in a different way for many reasons. Yet we often expect others to act a certain way.
