Confirmation at last night’s Council meeting that our three local Labour MPs have refused to support @wandsworth's challenge to the Labour Government’s 40% funding cut.
Two voted for the cuts, while the third was absent. #notonyourside #Wandsworth

Labour knew of the issues facing Wandsworth in private but tried to hide it publicly. Why would Wandsworth Labour write such a letter if they believed Wandsworth finances had been so secure?

The budget gap at @wandbc will reach £223m by 2030.
We have found £79m in savings. But unless the Government rethinks its cuts, council tax bills will have to rise by 94% in April.
That isn’t fair. Residents can help us prevent it by supporting our challenge to the Government.

🚨UNPUBLISHED LABOUR LETTER🚨
This is what @CllrSimonHogg sent to his own government last year, then failed to disclose under an FOI request.
Labour’s local plan, in the scenario that’s actually happened? “Radical service cuts” and “unintended impact” on your tax bill.

Labour squandered Wandsworth Council money for four years. They got kicked out but left a £137million black hole.
Burnham and Rayner cut funding to Wandsworth by over £80million. It’s punishment for people in the South of England that didn’t vote Labour.
This is a vindictive anti-London government.

Vindictive politics from Labour.
They lost Wandsworth, left behind a £137 million black hole and now Andy Burnham is taking millions more from southern councils to subsidise Labour areas in the North. Instead of bringing Britain together, he is pitting North against South.
Burnham’s version of devolution seems to prioritise punishing people for where they live whilst hardworking taxpayers are left footing the bill.

Hi Richard, our statement is here (feel free to print this on your leaflets):
“The Labour Government is slashing 40 per cent of Wandsworth Council's funding, leaving us with the worst cash loss of any council in the country. At the same time, the last Labour administration in Wandsworth had spending plans that would have used all our reserves and bankrupted the borough within 18 months - leaving us with a staggering budget gap of £137 million. We are undertaking a full spending review, which will be completed in September. The Wandsworth Conservatives will do what is necessary to clear up the mess left by Labour. We will protect core services and deliver value for money for residents."
Vote to help us clear up Labour's mess at Wandsworth Borough Council.
