JD Vance is mentioned in this report as leading senior officials discussing options. Even in the extremely unlikely scenario in which Trump is removed via the 25th Amendment, can JD Vance be trusted to end this foolish Iran War without military escalation?
If this report is accurate, if President Trump is truly set to attack this Iranian target set at any point — before or after Election Day — he will knowingly unleash Tehran’s promised devastating response against ours and our allies most vulnerable economic assets, likely plunging the world into a major depression.
It will not even have a chance to end the war on our terms, or improve our strategic position. It will only cost us. Yes, it will harm Iran grievously, but it won’t materially change their position.
It will, however, radically worsen ours.
While Senator Paul's performance in this video is disappointing, I'm not ready to write him off just yet. He did vote in favor of the War Powers Concurrent Resolution yesterday. As explained in this column (theamericanconservative.com/…), his vote for the NDAA in July was procedural.
Rand Paul has completely sold out.
It is so tragic to watch a man I once adored and supported sell his soul to foreign interests.
This is not the Rand Paul I once considered a true Constitutional patriot.
His father must be immensely disappointed.

Yes, the economy did suck before the Iran War, but the war exacerbated the pain and was totally unnecessary.

Except, that was true even BEFORE the Iran stuff (note my tweet from a few months before the war). That was baked from the economy and other factors. This is just the gravy on top. But even if the war never happened the -15 scrimmage line was there from numerous elections we've already seen, aside from polling data.

People will debate the results of TN-7 and what they mean, but you can't look at that race in a vacuum. Dems have overperformed by an average of 15 points in 45 of 46 special elections (mainly state legislative) this year. So in this case, Rs had a warning and went all in to avoid a surprise and mitigated a few points of the bleeding, but this is still bad. It's one thing to target military-only targets, but occasionally have some munitions go haywire and cause civilian casualties. But to deliberately target an elementary school (even if based on obsolete data) is completely different, and should never be done, even in a just war.
It's really too bad that our founders didn't put in a requirement in the Constitution that not only does Congress have to declare war, but a supermajority of the state legislatures (preferably 75%) have to ratify it before the President can take our country to war.
President Trump will be IMPEACHED AND REMOVED FROM OFFICE if he once again restarts a war against Iran.
On September 15, the U.S. House voted for the third time demanding the White House cease its war against Iran without authorization. The latest polls continue to show *overwhelming* majorities of American ppl oppose the war. If against the stated will of the people he unilaterally orders it to restart, he will have violated his most sacred oath.
The office of the President of the United States does not exist to satiate the lusts of one man. It exists to *serve the needs of the people.* If Mr. Trump violates the trust voters gave him in 2024, he will sternly deserve to be Constitutionally removed from office.
Iran under the leadership of the former Supreme Leader Khamenei would never have posed a cyber or nuclear threat (including an EMP attack) to the United States so long as we never seriously threatened to overthrow their regime.
