Was there ever really a leadership challenge or just more media trying to undermine Luxon with ‘sources close to’?

Christopher Luxon is trying to play the same trick twice. But this time his opponents will have more time to organise - and the public pledges of fealty have not been coming quite as fast. My piece on where things stand as of around 4pm:

People have short memories. @chrisluxonmp turned National around and has managed a three-party coalition well. Anyone inheriting the state Labour left the country in, particularly the debt and spending trajectory, was going to face an enormous challenge. Could National have done more? Sure. But what government couldn’t? My view is Chris is a good operator who has taken on a very difficult job, and it’s disappointing to see National MPs doing this.
