One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Muslim turnout in 2024 was about 80% of registered Muslim voters. Christian turnout was about 56% of voting-age Christian adults. The gap is not Muslims outvoting Christians. It is millions of Christians who could vote and do not.

🚨BREAKING🚨 Directly from the Mayor of Oxford, Mississippi concerning rumors circulating on social media about a spike in drug related deaths over the weekend at Ole Miss. Confirms 2 deaths and also confirms that Kratom was found at each scene. From mayor Official statement To Our Community: We are aware of the significant amount of concern, speculation, and misinformation circulating regarding the deaths of two college-aged individuals yesterday. First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, classmates, and loved ones affected by these tragic losses. Law enforcement is currently conducting two separate death investigations. At this time, we have no confirmed evidence indicating that the two deaths are connected. However, packaged Kratom sold from a retail store was found during both investigations. Out of an abundance of caution, we encourage everyone to avoid kratom and any other medication or substance that was not prescribed to you or obtained from a trusted, regulated source. We do not have confirmed information indicating that kratom or any other substance was a contributing factor in either death. We ask the public to avoid speculation regarding the circumstances or cause of either death while these investigations remain ongoing. Local, state, and federal partners are working collaboratively to gather the facts and provide answers as quickly and responsibly as possible. We are also working closely with the families involved and ask that their privacy be respected during an incredibly difficult time. As a general community safety resource, free Narcan is available through vending machines on campus and at the downtown parking garage within the City of Oxford. Narcan can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and is available to members of the community at no charge. We understand that uncertainty can create fear and rumors. We ask our community to rely on information released through official sources as these investigations continue. If information develops that presents a confirmed threat to public safety, we will communicate that information promptly. Our priority remains supporting these families, determining the facts, and protecting our community. #OleMiss #Mississippi #Kratom #Overdose #OxfordMs

The Senate will find 70 votes to send your money to Ukraine to be looted. They can’t find 51 to pass election integrity laws here. That’s not dysfunction. That’s corruption.

🚨 OMG. WNBA player DiJonai Carrington just ATTACKED Sophie Cunningham in the face and neck, got ejected, and then cried "white privilege" on social media Literally a straight shot that could've SEVERELY injured Cunningham. This is anti-white targeting. Cunningham was visibly furious. They are NOT going to stop until they hurt her. It has to stop

We need the truth about Mitch McConnell NOW. It is unacceptable that the party who spent four years criticizing Joe Biden’s health is now silent on McConnell’s. What’s the difference between that and what Iran’s leaders are doing with the new Ayatollah? Is McConnell braindead? Or is he chatting about Graham Platner and Iran? It is OUR RIGHT to know. That seat isn’t McConnell’s. It belongs to the people of Kentucky. “No taxation without representation” was a great start. It’s time for “No legislation without representation.”

🚨 HOLY CRAP! Sen. Mike Lee just walked out and RIPPED the Senate for taking another 2 week recess, calling on Leader Thune to CANCEL IT for the SAVE America Act "Why are we taking a recess right now?! Why on EARTH is the Senate wanting to recess for two WEEKS?" "Now, I get it. America's 250th birthday is coming up. That's great. It's all the more reason why we should finish our work. It's all the more reason why we should finish, do everything we possibly can to pass the SAVE America Act instead of recessing for two weeks." 🔥 "Only come back and work for a few weeks and then recess for another five or six weeks after that!" "Why? Why even bother to spend all this time and all this effort campaigning and running for office if when we get here we're constantly taking a recess!" "A recess at a moment when the Republican Party controls the House and the Senate and the White House. Why? Why do we do this?!" "There's got to be a better way, a way that doesn't constantly involve saying, oh wait, we've got to take a recess, we've got to leave." "The American people deserve better than this. They deserve to have free and fair elections and we've got to fix it."
The Senate shouldn’t take recess right now. We should turn back to the SAVE America Act and debate it until it passes, working through weekends to their filibuster. What better way could we find to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary?
