Folic acid ends the pregnancies.
Nine pregnancy losses for every neural tube defect "prevented".
Eat folate.
Don't take folic acid.

As the evidence on folic acid has accumulated over time, the fairy tale of a benign public health intervention that would only save babies with no negative impact has fallen apart.

'The BBC has been accused of breaching impartiality rules after civil servants embedded in the broadcaster were tasked with writing articles and fact-checking contentious issues, The Telegraph can reveal.
Civil Service fast-stream graduates and managers are being seconded to the BBC newsroom to produce news and analysis on “high-impact, sensitive topics” such as small boat crossings and coverage of the Covid pandemic'
This confirms what we've suspected for a long time. The BBC is not impartial, lacks integrity, fails scrutiny and is a hive of woke leftism and the destruction of British values.

I really enjoyed this conversation with @Vocation0110
What are academics afraid to say—and what happens to those who speak out?
Professor Norman Fenton (@profnfenton) spent 47 years in academia. Now he’s questioning the institutions where he built his career.
He joins me on Vocation to discuss The Capture of Academia, how funding and publishing pressures shape research, and the professional cost he says he paid for challenging accepted ideas.
Can universities defend independent thought if their own academics are afraid to dissent?

Miller versus Chief Constable Paul Gibson. High Court. Nov 18-19.
The HM Inspectorate assessment of @LincsPolice is grim reading with long standing, critical failure all round.
The Chief claims his force is short of cash… which is what happens when you spend upward of 250k on a KC, junior, and legal team to defend a hopeless case. And when we win, we sue. None of this reconciliation with a coffee and handshake, which is what we did in 2019 v @Humberbeat

Miller v Home Secretary and @LincsPolice
On the orders of the Home Secretary, police are now recording full fat hate crimes against individuals -
- No evidence needed beyond the say so of a complainant
- No interview under caution
- No charge
- No CPS
- No magistrate, judge or jury
- No guilty verdict
Just straight to a criminal record without passing Go.
We say that is abhorrent. We say this is a police state Britain.

Please share the folic acid petition this weekend with friends and family.
Help raise awareness of the safety issues with the drug folic acid and the fact that it is being added to our flour.
Please share and ask people to sign the petition:

I found it hard to keep my cool in a question to the minister on Russian interference in the Brexit vote. It is an insult to Leave voters - but even more exasperating is the government's gaslighting with ministers going on about what Andy Burnham did or didn't say, when we all heard him!

This needs repeating.
The gov recommend that over 50s do not exceed 200 mcg of folic acid per day.
They are mandating 250 mcg per 100g of flour in ALL non-wholemeal flour including organic and imported flour.

I have made a video explaining the difference between folic acid and folate, why people got confused between the two and the way the language remains distorted as a result.

The Institute of Food Research was writing about the risks from synthetic folic acid way back in 2014.
They proposed using the natural folate forms instead.
Ignored.

Choosing to put the drug folic acid into our flour rather than using natural methylated folate will save somewhere between £0.12 and £0.40 per person per year.
Forget 2031. Next year the target will be 2032 and forever moving. Give us the same data for 2027 please. Stop moving the goalposts.

Second, something way too often missed by commentators: the UK is doing more than anyone else in G7 to strengthen our public finances. We are delivering the fastest fiscal consolidation in the G7 and forecast to have the smallest deficit in 2031

Thank you to @DailyMirror for covering this.
Note the image of a child being fed bread.
Note the claim from former Minister for Food Security Daniel Zeichner that "it will help give the nation’s children a strong start in life."

WHY AM I QUESTIONING MANDATORY FOLIC ACID FORTIFICATION? petition.parliament.uk/petit…
1. FOLATE and FOLIC ACID are not the same thing.
Folate occurs naturally in food. Folic acid is the synthetic form used in supplements and food fortification.
2. Most people can get the folate they need from a varied, balanced diet.
3. We don't all metabolise FOLIC ACID identically.
Activity of DHFR, an enzyme involved in processing folic acid, varies considerably between individuals.
4. Unmetabolised folic acid can be detected in the bloodstream. The health significance of long-term exposure remains uncertain.
5. Very high intakes of folic acid can mask signs of vitamin B12 deficiency.
6. Women trying to conceive are specifically advised to take 400mcg of folic acid daily, ideally before conception and through the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, because it reduces the risk of neural-tube defects.
7. From 13 December 2026, folic acid must be added to non-wholemeal common wheat flour covered by UK regulations. This means additional folic acid will be consumed by the wider population through everyday flour-based foods.
8. Folic acid isn't appropriate for everyone at supplement/medicinal doses. The NHS says folic-acid tablets or liquid may not be suitable for people with a coronary stent, vitamin B12 deficiency/pernicious anaemia or cancer.
Folate is essential. That isn't the argument.
The question is: why should the whole population routinely consume additional synthetic folic acid to address a specific nutritional need?
Dr Anthony Hinton retweeted
When pregnant mice with B12 deficiency were given folic acid at doses that would induce unmetabolised folic acid in the blood, there were effects on the offspring, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
