if I have learned anything this year, it is how much safety and comfort I have gotten from my engineering identity..from speaking in technical language...from existing in those quantitative spaces
& as I challenge myself to excavate the artistic and soulful parts of myself...the parts that strike a nerve....
I am reminded that in order to grow we actually have to risk something
and that expansion can feel turbulent and uncomfortable. but my god the version of me on the other side is so much more interesting than the version of me that just played it safe
