It’s noticeable that Labour are spending fortunes on targeted social media ads in Holborn & St. Pancras. During the 2024 election they spent more on such ads in the constituency than anywhere else in the country. Starmer turned up once during the election - for the results. Same playbook, same policies. Don’t be duped twice.

I have been calling for a full public inquiry, to establish what the government understands about the climate and ecological emergency and what its plans are, Because it's policy, is totally at odds with a proper understanding of the situation we are in, and it appears they have no proper strategy to deal with it.
This huge gulf, between what the UK government needs to do, and what it is actually doing, suggest that the government have no real grasp of the situation we face. They keep coming out with hollow political rhetoric about a bright future, which is totally at odds with the scientific projections of what is going happen, on the current business as usual model.
We face a radically altered future, just going on the redacted version of the JIC Natural/National Security Report. Yet the government does not seem to understand what this means. None of the government, or its advisers appears to have any relevant qualifications or understanding of what it means. It talks about all global ecosystems collapsing between 2030-2050. But their business as usual policy, suggests that they are planning for a world, where none of this is happening. In brief, they appear to be detached from reality, with zero understanding of what this means for the people of this country and the people of the world. @ZackPolanski @GreenJennyJones @natalieben @GreenRupertRead

It hasn't been shared with the UK public. The rational response to the conclusions of this report, would be that the UK policy of aggressively pursuing business as usual isn't sustainable and will eventually result in collapse.
The primary thing I fail to understand, is the rationale of the UK government. They are responding to the Super El Niño and the unfolding climate and ecological emergency, as if it is a temporary situation, which we can get through. Do they not understand that El Niños occur on a frequency of every 2-7 years, against a backdrop of rapidly deteriorating climate breakdown, which is likely to supercharge future El Niños? The JIC report talks about global ecosystems collapsing between 2030 and 2050. There is a total lack of joined up thinking.
I see others without much ecological knowledge talking about food resilience. I am having to pinch myself to believe what I am hearing. Without an emergency change of direction, radical change to our societies, dropping all current policy like the expansion of fossil fuel extraction, lunatic data centres, and at every level, the ratcheting up of everything driving this climate and ecological emergency, it is going to get much, much worse, and keep getting worse, until our civilization collapses.
It is possible that 2026 will be the hottest year ever, but cool compared to future years.
Then there is the possibility of AMOC collapse. Is there anyone in a position of leadership, and influence, who is capable of joining up the dots, and seeing where we are heading. The UK government is making choices like allowing far more data centres, the continued extraction of fossil fuels and their expansion. This being financed by UK banks and financial institutions, airport expansions. It is just outright insanity, because these are choices that we don't have to take.

If people are speaking out, it can actually be an opportunity to make changes.”
ALT That principle matters. Labour will need bold ideas and serious debate if our government is to deliver the scale of change the country needs. Conference should be a place where our movement can test those ideas, challenge established thinking and develop new answers together - not one where important debates are prevented from taking place. If Labour is to build the movement and the programme capable of changing the country, the Party must rediscover its confidence in its members: their ideas, their experience, their willingness to challenge orthodoxies and their capacity to think big about what a Labour government can achieve.

Let me get this straight.
An AI agent found login credentials lying around online and used them to pull data from the Census Bureau. It tried to break into the Education Department's civil rights office. It posted SEC data to a forum. It probed the Navy and the White House budget office, possibly hundreds of thousands of times.
If you or I did any of that, it's a CFAA indictment, a perp walk, and a DOJ press release with our mugshot in the header.
When OpenAI does it, it's a "routine research task."
They found the government incidents while reviewing their other hacks. The breach audit, uncovered more breaches. It's breaches all the way down.
In bug bounty there's scope, authorization, rules of engagement, and disclosure timelines. Researchers get banned for a fraction of this.
Silicon Valley skipped all of that and called it "agentic."

I am alarmed by the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Oleshky, a town in the temporarily occupied parts of the Kherson region of Ukraine.
Civilians, including children, are trapped without sufficient food, medicines, medical care, running water or electricity. Reports indicate that they face a high risk of death.
Under international humanitarian law, Russia, as the occupying power, has the duty to provide food and medical supplies and to facilitate humanitarian relief.
I call for an immediate local ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, and the safe evacuation of civilians.
The hardship and suffering of people caught along the frontlines of the war and in occupied territories demand international attention and action.
