“British national” So not a native Brit. Good job guys!
Police investigating incident near RAF Fairford arrest 22-year-old British national in London bbc.in/4y7Wvuv
There is no such thing as "trickle down" economics. No economist has every posited it as economic theory. It's a strawman. It doesn't exist.
Replying to @PramilaJayapal
The richest Washingtonians already pay a smaller share of their income in taxes than working families — and now they want to lock that in with I-645.
Trickle-down doesn't trickle. It floods up.

But, Gamma you wanted to drone strike Julian Assange what happened to you? ):
Kicking out the free press is what fragile authoritarians do. Not American presidents. instagram.com/reels/DdovJZPT…

Imagine you’re Brian Thompson’s 16-year-old son. Some lunatic murders your dad in cold blood for literally no good reason. And then you log on and see your friends’ favorite comedian say this:
Despicable. No other word for it.
.@billburr criticizes corporations' reaction to Luigi Mangione's killing of a health care CEO:
“The response to the Luigi [Mangione] thing. It wasn’t ‘Maybe we need to look at what we’re doing if it makes some crazy person do this.’ [Healthcare executives’] response was to take their faces off the internet and get security. It’s like, you don’t think you need to examine this? You’re not the president. You’re just the CEO of a business.”

“Why are people voting for the Far Right?”
“It’s immigration.”
“We need to get to the bottom of why people are rejecting the mainstream political parties.”
“They all support more immigration.”
“Here’s my convoluted 10 step economic analysis for why people are voting for the Far Right.”
“I voted for less immigration.”
“Won’t SOMEONE DO SOMETHING to halt the rise of the Far Right?”
“Please end immigration.”
“What are you, some sort of Far Right Fascist?”
Here’s my attenpt to explain what’s going on in Germany:
- Competition from Eastern Europe severely weakened collective bargaining in the 1990s. The result was wage stagnation and higher inequality. (This gave rise to a temporary export boom, but it didn’t last).
- Gerhard Schroeder’s Hartz IV reforms undermined the German welfare state and created a new category of precarious low paying jobs.
- Angela Merkel’s debt brake led to massive austerity right after the global financial crisis. This was removed only for military spending.
- Germany’s leading industry was always cars. But the industry made a bad bet on ICE cars instead of EVs, and is now getting killed by China.
- German industry relied on cheap fossil fuel energy from Russia. We know how that worked out.
And now the AfD is riding high and the SPD (which used to be the world’s most prominent left-wing party) is dead. And Merz is weak feckless.
Do you disagree with any of this, @edenhofer_jacob?
She doesn’t even know what capitalism is lmao incredible
America was built on the institution of slavery. It is how America became a world economic power — the buying and selling of people being tied to the economy. That is effectively white supremacy, since it was a race-based system.
Fast forward to other economic policies that were guided by race — housing, employment, etc. There were rules that prevented Black people from equally participating in the free economy.
In fact, one of the most glaring features of American capitalism is racial inequality. The racial wealth gap exists because specific policies were put in place to suppress economic participation.
So yes, capitalism is tied to white supremacy.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
America's economy was not built on slavery. Enslaved labor produced roughly 10-13% of GNP around 1860, with cotton at 5-6%. U.S. dominance came from post-1865 Northern industrialization, long after abolition.

Catching up on @DawgNationDaily and BA just name dropped "Clarice Starling" when citing the Pete Golden story about the FBI sweeping the Ole Miss facility for bugs. Come for the Georgia football, but stay for the Hannibal Lecter/Silence of the Lambs references. Thank you for the chuckle Brandon! 😂
Someone check on @hasty_mcnasty!
Telling the truth is shameless.
Ah yes, the Atlantic is on the case. Arday was a victim....of his own lying? Lol

This happened because Jason Arday was a shameless con artist, then things got out of control, then he panicked because it was all taken away.
Every step of the way, people enabled him because they were too politically correct to scrutinize his obviously fake story.
This should have never happened.
Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead.
Mr Arday was found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea, London, on Friday afternoon and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Why are these pro-criminal communists always disgustingly fat with blotchy skin and bad tattoos?
It hurts my brain at how incredible stupid some people are on this app. They really don’t understand that both the state and the feds can bring criminal charges.

I’m not scared. I think you guys will fail because your ideas are stupid and very, very, old and will fail wherever put into practice. Price controls are older than Christianity, for instance. Your Mao schtick is moronic and takes advantage of your fans’ ignorance. I think you’re a cosplaying radical kid of privilege and apologist for murderers and terrorists. But you’re not scary dude. You’re a poseur. I think it’s hilarious you streamed my comments to your easily duped fans.
