Exact same feeling for me. Particularly from the British. The most over the line stuff on here seems to be coming from them. I work in the UK often and this has been eye opening.

A big WC eye opener for me is that I viewed, I guess naively, European countries as allies/friends. The anti-American venom and vitriol from posts on X (far beyond football banter) before and during the WC has changed my view on EU completely - to a very negative view.

As an American, I realize we are a people with mass Stockholm Syndrome. The more people hate us, the more we kiss their ass. Our love affair with Europe is sick. Blood is not thicker than water when it comes to those haters. We better wake up from the delusion.

I find the British to be the most disappointing of all. Last week was all hugs and how much they enjoyed their time here. Then after Mexico it all changed into the USA sucks and we should have no more games. Don't forget about the hate from Australia and Canada as well.
