The economic recovery is real in Danville and South Boston, but all that progress is under threat by the blow to health services caused by McGuire's vote for HR1. Earlier this week, Danville business leaders told me the coming Medicaid cliff the biggest threat to their recovery.

I asked Danville business leaders this morning to name the greatest threat to Southside’s economic recovery. Before I could even finish the question, a major employer shouted “Medicaid cuts and McGuire gutting our local clinics and hospitals!” Be sure to get out and vote early!

We have to be building a broader coalition of common sense that is ready to build out a true, new path to an American dream that leaves no race or region behind.

Data centers are so much more than just the building– they use disproportionate amounts of water and electricity, and displace the people and natural communities around them.
