Lancashire care workers and residents face vicious attacks by the new Reform UK council.
Five care homes and day centres are ‘under review’.
If these vital care services close, 300 people could lose their jobs and hundreds of people may lose their homes.

After 15 months of genocide in Gaza, a ceasefire has been declared — but the US, UK & others must be held accountable for arming these atrocities.
We’ll keep speaking out until the siege lifts, aid flows, schools & hospitals are rebuilt, the Occupation ends & Palestine is free.
For over a year we have been protesting against the genocide in Palestine, and calling for a ceasefire.
I have seen that some Liverpool Labour councillors have stood side by side with a "counter protest for Israel" at the recent Palestine march in the city centre.
In 2021 we worked hard to develop a Community Asset Transfer Policy that would unlock assets for the people of the city.
By 2023 @CityofLpoolFC were on the way to doing this at Rathbone Park.
Terrible to see that these plans now may not go ahead.

Israel has no care for peace. Before denouncing this wanton escalation, the west will invariably urge restraint from every other quarter. History shows, if granted an inch, Israel will take a mile.
Thoughts with the people of Palestine & Lebanon as they face this horror.

Listening to most politicians & journalists, you’d think the far-right sprung up overnight and are not a well-resourced, organised and ideologically-driven movement.
Defeating the far-right requires refuting their very politics — by distinguishing ourselves from them —with ours.

Muslims and migrants have been demonised by the press and politicians for decades.
This racist, far-right violence is the culmination of that.

Here’s just a few examples of Daily Mail headlines that have fanned the flames of hate and normalised Islamophobic and anti-migrant rhetoric #GMB

When the far-right in Liverpool burn down their local library means they don’t care about the kids of this city, nor the country they are so passionate about saving. They are reflecting their own life issues and projecting it on their scapegoats to fix.

Today I am tabling an amendment to the King's Speech, calling on our new government to suspend arms sales to Israel and end the UK government's complicity in war crimes.

The Lancet - the most prestigious medical journal in the world - conservatively estimates that the death toll in Gaza could be 186,000 or more.
That’s 8% of the population.
I repeat my longstanding call for the UK government to immediately end all arms sales to Israel.

This must be a turning point.
The International Court of Justice has ruled against Israel, ordering it to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza.
Our government must heed this judgement, ending arms sales to Israel and demanding an immediate ceasefire.
