Sunderland AFC is appalled by the vile online racist abuse directed at Romaine Mundle following today’s Premier League fixture against Fulham.

Thank you for not bothering with the 900 or 901 bus either. Real dedication to annoying your customer base 👏

At what point do Nexus get replaced? Can they get replaced?
We are still experiencing delays of 20 minutes or more across the system and are working to return trains to timetable as quickly as possible. Please check the Pop app for the latest train times in your area. Thank you for your continued patience. ^NW

One of the best players in Wolves history? Maybe! RIP
We are all devastated to hear the tragic news of Diogo Jota’s passing. Not only an incredible player on the pitch, but also such a humble and engaging personality who enriched the lives of Foundation participants when visiting projects. Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved Diogo and his brother Andre. May they rest in peace. ❤️

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

I think that gold medal secures Djokovic as the undisputed GOAT of men's tennis. He's completed tennis #OlympicGames

Also, what would it take to give Rodri the Ballon D'Or? He controls all the games he plays in and barely ever loses. Mentality monster. He's such a phenomenal player

We're in a good place for the 2026 World Cup. I would expect Gareth Southgate to leave with his head held relatively high and let's see what someone like Graham Potter can do over the next couple of seasons. It'll come home soon

#AskDanny What is your honest view on getting booked for gesturing for a booking when you don't typically get booked for verbally asking for one?

Romelu Lukaku has now scored FIFTY more goals than the next top Belgian international goalscorer. I appreciate he often has a star-studded team behind him... but does he deserve more respect?

If I ran @My_Metro, I would consider maybe putting on more trains when they know it's busy rather than 12 fewer... but what do I know, eh?

Hi @My_Metro - in light of the felling of Sycamore Gap, could you rename 'Felling Station' for the weekend please? Would be a lovely touch... and it's word play too

One of the worst things about coming back on holiday is getting back to using the Tyne-Wear Metro. Prolifically inferior.

Just landed in Milan from Amman. I'm a Mackem. I'm currently a Mackem in Milan. This is the second time since May that I've been to Milan. Just saying. #MackemInMilan – at Milan, Lombardy

I never saw Tiger King during lockdown... is it too late for me to start? Has that ship sailed?

The changing of the guard? Not quite as simple as that, Novak isn't done just yet... but what a fantastic match! Two great competitors. Same again next year? Quite possibly! #VamosAlcaraz #Wimbledon

Say what you will about Elton John, but it’s difficult to imagine any other past or present Premier League chairmen pulling this off
