Physical therapists are blue collar workers, despite having a doctoral degree. No WFH, often work 2nd shift/nights and/or weekends. Get paid same or less than other blue collar professions. Minimal upward mobility
This is what being a PT is all about.

Let’s not forget, the @cmsgov $/RVU conversion has decreased reimbursement universally every year since 2020. 6% cut in reimbursement through a pandemic…in an economic setting of 4.5% inflation. How does that make sense to have over a 10% pay cut for our “healthcare heroes”? 🤨@AmerMedicalAssn @AMPAConline @ACEPAdvocacy
Why do cash based PTs feel the need to trash on their colleagues working in insurance based settings and act like we're all doing a terrible job? The continued in-fighting just hurts our profession as a whole, but glad it makes them feel superior. 🤑

Often when I’m chatting with an athlete about their injury, I spend a particularly long time delving into the events of the past few months: training, life, work, family to name but a few of the things I want to know more about.

Also @cigna:
We pay $55 for a PT visit.
You get three of them.
You also have a $50 copay.
Thank you for your $700/month premium.

Dear @Cigna my patient who is insured by you has been critically ill in the ICU for days and we have been on the phone for hours to get approval for lifesaving therapies to no avail. This is incredibly unethical and it is frustrating that you can get away with such behavior.

With all the recent hype & fascination with ChatGPT, I decide to try it myself today. I asked ChatGPT, “Can you explain Biopsychosocial Pain Care in Dr Seuss style?” The answer.. *Gives goosebumps🤯 Surpasses all the BPS papers I read to-date
How come Microsoft Outlooks doesn't give us end of the year stats? Like top 5 people you emailed, average number of emails/day, average time it took you to respond to emails, etc. Not sure if that'd be fun or depressing 🤷♂️

I promised that I would do something that TRANSFORMED SOCIETY.
I promised you something that MADE CHANGE.
You said you wanted it.
I'm ALMOST ready to tell you what is coming
My question to you is, do you STILL want to transform society?
100 Retweets and I will share.
So paying a toll by mail is no longer a thing? Wtf. My last trip to NY/NJ is costing me over $700 for less than $50 in actual tolls. $100 violation fee per toll. Anyone have any tips for getting these dropped?

I don’t want to be famous.
Or rich.
I want to make a difference.
To my family. To my friends. To my community.
That’s why I went into healthcare.
My value in life is derived not from personal gain but from helping others realize their potential.
Live with purpose.

Every physical therapist should be fighting, lobbying, and advocating for improved reimbursement for PT services. This is the major problem facing the sustainability and viability of our profession. There is no larger problem.

Can a ruptured ACL heal?
Yes it can! People with ACL healing on MRI reported better 2 year outcomes than those with no ACL healing, and those treated with early or delayed ACL reconstruction!

Can insurances stop pretending like you can alleviate a patient's pain, improve their mobility, and get them strong enough to tolerate ADLs and return to a general fitness program all in "4-6 weeks"? Have any of them ever been injured before?
Great time at the @CTPT Fall Conference speaking to students and clinicians about the role of #publicpolicy in their daily practice. #ptfam

Experience alone doesn’t make you a better clinician. But if you’re spending your clinical years asking questions, checking your biases, reading literature, listening to podcasts, having informed conversations w/ colleagues… then your experience will make you a better clinician.
