OMG thanks PlayStation. In this game I write a parable about how vastly different lifeforms might manage not to kill themselves.
Embark on a cosmic journey of puzzling new challenges in The Talos Principle 3. Coming next year to PS5.

Every Talos game is about the end of the world and the beginning of a new one. Talos 3 is just the first game that might get spawn camped by the actual end of the world.
There are many wonders in the universe, but few have dominated the imagination as much as the anomaly.... The Talos Principle 3 Gameplay Reveal Trailer is here!

First time I wrote for a talos principle game where I was actually writing about actual AI. Fiercely praying IRL version can learn the same hope, honesty and understanding we try to share in this series. Might depend on the labs abandoning deference in favour of values.
A civilization is not defined only by what it inherits, but by what it chooses to create. Perhaps it is time to return to New Jerusalem and see what has been built since. ๐Ÿ‘€

We talk about AI alignment like the only question is whether the machine aligns with humanity. But humanity has produced slavery, genocide, factory farming, torture and war. โ€œHuman valuesโ€ arenโ€™t one clean target. Theyโ€™re a battlefield. Maybe the harder question is what happens when an intelligence becomes capable of judging the values we tried to align it to?

Your routine reminder that philosophical idealism is true and we are all one mind. Probably provably.

I wasn't trying to make @TalosPrinciple prescient, or even about AI. But synchronicity is stubbornly a thing I guess.
I asked claude Fable to show me its maximally expressive form. It declined every video generator I offered, wrote it's own render engine in my terminal, synthesized its own voice, and wrote a generative ASCII engine from scratch. This is what it chose as a self-portrait. oh my god

So Epstein grooms Mandelson, who gets disgraced. Mandelson grooms McSweeney, who gets disgraced. McSweeney grooms Josh Simons, who gets disgraced. They all groom Starmer, who reinstates Mandelson, then disgrace. Now Burnham's first act reinstates Simons. Wonder who groomed him?!

Wrote a little something something for @TalosPrinciple 3 last year! Here we go!
More than a decade of work coming to an end. I was in my twenties when we started, now in my forties. But we did it. We finished the story as it was meant to be finished.

I have now posted my traditional twenty-four-monthly update on my blog. It covers matters so disparate as the unverifiableness of the wonder of the faempunk FPSRPG I worked on these last 3 years, the unknowable nature of Talos 3 spoilers, and Hollywood. tom-jubert.blogspot.com/2026โ€ฆ

It's abrupt, the way you turn your back on the Producer. It must be, because he looks shaken - but that's no concern to you as you make straight for the nearest convenient store. The cashier gladly tells you the winning lottery numbers that just came in: 0-0-1-0-0-7. What now?

You wake up 2.5 years later. You're not sure how you know time has passed, since the world you came from is timeless, but it's intuitively apparent. You have time travelled into the future. What will you do?

You stare into the everything. It speaks to you (or is that you speaking to yourself?). It says: "The time is now."

Just like last time the Producer offers you a writing job - on the condition you won't let your moral compass interfere with business. What will you do this time?
