This was Rio Ferdinand talking about David Moyes 8 years ago. This is exactly what he did yesterday with the starting line up. This loser mentality is why he will never be successful at our club.
He’s not developed as a manager at all, football has changed.
Rohl RW against 20th defence
A clearly unfit Norgaard over Hackney who hasn’t had a bad cameo
George *knocking on the door* despite looking our best forward
Johnson mandatory minutes regardless of previous performance
With so little to pick, how do you get it this wrong?
Lukaku is the benchmark for what Everton should be aiming for in a striker if our aim is to sell them immediately.
Lukaku was only second to Kane during his final 2 years. Once Pickford retires we will be having the same discourse around why our £20m keeper isn’t world class
I find the Thierno Barry discourse misses the bigger picture.
Lukaku is the benchmark for what Everton should be aiming for in a centre forward. Barry deserves our support, but that doesn't mean lowering our expectations.
The wider issue is that we haven't recruited a striker close to Lukaku's level since. Whether it's Barry, Beto or Calvert-Lewin, that's the standard Everton should be trying to reach again.
One of George or Dibling should ALWAYS start.
Was quite happy with Johnson as someone to come off the bench when we need a goal, but he’s been poor in all of his starts. Don’t really get it
Johnson has shown nothing to be starting ahead of Dibling but especially George…
Really don’t get it.
Serves everyone who left right, honestly it’s 4pm on a Sunday…
One of the only downsides to the new ground, never noticed it at Goodison but every week at BMD there is a mass exodus in the 85th whatever the scoreline
Fully understand and support people doing this, but please keep it to an individual decision.
If a Dad wants to get his son a programme or fruit shoot at his first game. Let them and keep quiet. The situation should be uniting us not dividing us based off spending a fiver
We let them swap Savio for this and make a £20m profit…
Genuinely inexcusable when players with 100% relegation rates are going for £100m
📢📢 - 1878s STATEMENT - 📢📢
We thought the potential sale of our biggest young talent was bad enough, but the last 24 hours has topped that.
On Saturday Moyes said "I don't think we can afford to lose any players, we need to stay as strong as we can” - Since then we have lost another 5 players (3 of them who have left play in areas we needed to strengthen in) and only brought 2 in.
To leave us with no back up full backs and just one striker is full on gross negligence, not forgetting we also lost one of our best players at an under valued price in today’s market in the process without replacing him too.
We stated on Sunday that we do not feel that our fanbase’s ambitions and the club’s ambitions align right now - what happened yesterday has proved that even more.
As a group we will still be standing down for the foreseeable future and will not be dedicating a huge amount of our own time to put together the displays that we do that try and generate the best pre match atmosphere possible.
To be clear, this is nothing against the signings we have made, we welcome them to the club and wish them the best of luck here.
However, like the rest of our fanbase, we are utterly disappointed and disgusted with how this transfer window has gone, especially the end of it.
Also for fans asking, just to reiterate - When we design flags, there are rules and regulations that we have to adhere to regarding the wording on our flags during displays, we are not allowed derogatory or offensive wording or images.
If we were able to get a load of flags in the ground to show our feelings of discontent, disappointment & anger over this whole situation, believe us, we would, but this is something that simply wouldn’t be allowed.
Despite how we all feel we still urge fans to get behind our team on the pitch for 90 mins like we did at Bournemouth on Saturday.
We will fully support any action the fanbase takes in reaction to this extremely poor transfer window.
OUR MOTTO IS THE STANDARD WE EXPECT!
Absolutely Iove Ndiaye, works hard and has stayed very professional but refusing multiple contracts to end up at a Europe-less Spurs is lowkey booable behaviour
Actually kind of a life saver Ornstein broke it when he did, fair play to everyone there yesterday 👏
