This wasn’t an easy decision, but today we will be withdrawing from the Governor’s race.
Over the past 10 months, we’ve poured our hearts into this campaign—traveling across the state, meeting incredible people, and talking about what Michigan could be with bold, positive leadership focused on real solutions.
We didn’t run this campaign alone. Jenell, Hannah, Thomas, Danny, and I are forever grateful to every single person who believed in this effort. You gave your time, your energy, your resources, and so much encouragement to our family. The Lord has blessed us with incredible friends, supporters, and family over these past several months, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you.
As the race has evolved, we’ve taken an honest look at the path forward. And at the end of the day, I’m not willing to compromise who I am or how I believe this campaign should be run in order to win. Michigan deserves better. And right now, that means coming together, focusing on what unites us, and doing everything we can to move our state forward in November.
We are incredibly proud of what this campaign stood for. And while this chapter is closing, we are not going anywhere when it comes to fighting for the issues that matter.
PATH FORWARD 4th EDITION
OUT NOW ‼️‼️
Our campaign continues to be built on bold solutions and a positive vision to take on Michigan’s biggest challenges.
Today, we’re releasing #PathForward 4th Edition. New updates include:
• Addressing Michigan’s sky-high auto insurance rates with more choice and more competition. If you want to opt out of the no-fault system, you should have that choice.
• A property tax freeze for those 62 and older. No retiree on a fixed income should ever lose their forever home because they can’t afford the property taxes.

Great time in Grosse Pointe Farms last night with the Eastside Republican Club. One of the biggest issues in Q&A: rising energy costs. They love the idea of ending the governor’s stranglehold over the MPSC, because right now, it doesn’t work for us… it works for the two utilities it’s supposed to regulate.

A 17-year-old was facing 10 years in prison.
The report said one thing.
I learned there was more to the story.
That’s what this campaign is about. Listening to people, identifying problems, and delivering solutions that fix them.

Sitting here this morning trying to figure out how all our signatures fit into a little blue wagon with 3 boxes…
…and everyone else needed a Cobo Hall-sized U-Haul moving van to drop off 30 boxes.

Are you sick of the MPSC working for the utilities instead of you? Let’s talk about it tomorrow.
Hear my plan. Share your ideas. Ask me anything. Unscripted. Anyone is welcome.

Tired of paying some of the highest electricity rates in the country?
Join me tomorrow for a real conversation on ending utility monopolies, making the MPSC work for you instead of the companies they regulate, and restoring local control for solar siting.
This won’t be your typical conversation. No scripts. No pre-screened questions. You don’t even have to support me to show up. The only rule? We must have a respectful dialogue. I want to hear your thoughts and make my plan even stronger. The media is invited, too.
The coffee is on me! I hope to see you there!

This week, we filed our petitions to get on the ballot for governor.
You often hear me say “we.” I’ve been blessed with the most supportive family any man could ask for.
Jenell, Hannah, Thomas, and Danny, I love you all so much.

Great conversation with the WWJ team this afternoon. Tune in this weekend! And before the trolls chime in, yes, I know I need to get back on the Rogaine.

I had a great time touring Common Ground today and seeing firsthand the important work they’re doing to support those facing mental health challenges. A special thank you to Janet Sarkos for the tour. Fixing our broken mental health system is a priority I’ll continue to fight for every day.

Glad to see others finally catching up. I just wish they had been with me ten years ago when I battled my own governor and forced every lawmaker to go on record with a tax cut vote.
Now I look forward to seeing them stand with me on ending utility monopolies, protecting people from forced vaccinations, advancing constitutional carry, and taking on AI data centers.
‼️‼️
Just left the Secretary of State’s office after submitting our signatures to get on the ballot.
This moment belongs to the dozens of volunteers who stepped up and put in the work to make it happen. Thank you!
And to these four - Jenell, Hannah, Thomas, and Danny - I love you so much. Thank you for standing alongside me since Day 1!
