Meteorologists may have traced the origins of Hurricane Isaias back to September 29th in Raleigh, NC, where the Carolina Hurricanes performed their Stanley Cup Storm Surge.
What began as a minor disturbance appears to have had enough time to move offshore, organize over warm Atlantic waters, and develop into an increasingly powerful storm.
The timing is suspicious. 😂
Sony should make one PlayStation that isn’t really a retail product at all.
Call it the PS5 Pro□ Championship Edition — “Pro Squared.”
It would sit above the regular PS5 Pro as the most powerful PS5 Sony makes, but only in extremely limited numbers. Think 32GB of faster memory, 4TB NVMe storage, higher sustained CPU/GPU performance, better cooling, upgraded ray tracing and PSSR hardware, and a premium controller. Parts of the case could be transparent so the upgraded hardware is actually visible.
The important part is scarcity. Maybe only a few thousand get made each season, individually numbered and permanently marked with where they came from:
PLAYSTATION INVITATIONAL
SEASON 03
UNIT 0001 / 5000
No normal retail release. Different tournaments and seasons could produce different editions, making early units, low serial numbers and championship versions legitimately collectible.
That would create something gaming hardware doesn’t have much of: a console with actual status attached to owning it. Not because Sony slapped “limited edition” on a different color shell, but because there genuinely aren’t many of them and getting one means you qualified for something.
Rare Pokémon cards, sneakers, watches and cars all benefit from the same thing: scarcity creates its own market. Once people know there are only 5,000 of something, suddenly the number on yours matters.
The Championship Edition could be awarded to some tournament winners, while other high finishers earn the right to buy one. Sony, Fortnite, Gran Turismo, Call of Duty and other publishers could all have qualifying events throughout the year.
I’d make that tournament system a separate idea entirely.
For the console itself, the formula is simple:
Better hardware. Tiny production numbers. Individually numbered. Earned access.
Make the best PS5 something people actually chase.

Hester Peirce warns existing KYC/AML frameworks create huge databases of sensitive user data, making them prime targets for hacks, phishing and even physical attacks.
She is pushing zero-knowledge proofs as an alternative, allowing users to prove compliance without exposing their personal data.
