Would be hard to retain assistant coaches for sure. High school kids making more money than them and coaches spending less time with their own family. Be hard to justify staying and coaching.

I mean….its his opinion & hand shown ….even voiced his personal view but Big s/o to all the teams who are considered “Super Teams” or “Play National Schedules”……lets be clear here…..it’s only a few teams in Alabama that can do that….I will debate & defend the highly advanced programs anytime…those are the programs pushing our state forward….

I’ll be honest…if NIL comes to Alabama HS football then I’m going to start looking for a new career path in my 40s. No one needs to mess with something as pure as High School football and Friday nights

I’m for a kid making money signing autographs, doing commercials, advertising on their social media etc AND getting paid to do it. I’m not for the Buddy Garritys of Alabama paying kids to move and come play at their high school. As bad as recruiting is now it’ll be 10x’s worse

Landscape is changing for sure! But if it does come, kids will need us more than ever. Must adapt with it. Our purpose and mission must remain. #ALFBChat

Perfect world, for sure! But too many loopholes and slippery slopes there. Allow one and someone will abuse the other. #ALFBChat

If the NCAA can’t get it right how can the AHSAA (or whatever organization gets created in the future) govern it?!! Besides…show me the ROI on a high school kid advertising your product/company and I’ll show you a business that’ll probably be out of business soon.

Patience is the key that leads to true development. Money can’t develop you! It can’t be bought and has to happen over time and work. High school sports are about community and camaraderie with the folks you’ve grown up with! We can’t teach kids to chase money! Chase the work!
Toe The Line: An #ALFBChat Podcast retweeted
Coach is 100% spot on! Drastically hurting the development of kids both as players and as men. I’m not fully against NIL, but the little amount of regulation towards it and the little amount of responsibility on athletes to hold their end of the deal has to change #ALFBChat

I’ve seen it make college football something that I don’t like. I want kids to have the opportunity to get paid but I don’t believe it was set up with good guardrails. Just like if it came to HS it wouldn’t be policed/guarded well.
