Santa is feeling burned out. And I just made it worse by saying: - “Don’t be silly.” - "It could be worse.” - "At least you have...” How would you change Santa's mind and save christmas?

I once asked for a pay raise. It went so bad, I thought, NEVER again. Then, I learned these three tactics: 1. Open Questions - What and How? 2. Mirroring - Repeat back words. 3. Labeling - "I'm hearing the budget is tight." Easy in theory, hard in practice!

High performance tends to happen when you stop thinking about high performance. It tends to happen when you let go of the demand: “I must high perform" High performance is so often a product of a mind that's directed instead to specific tasks within a clear, concise process

A good thread about the nuance of coaching in the workplace
A recent reply to one of my tweets seemed to assume that, as a coach I tell people what to do. I don't. I help remove fog around potential improvements, encourage experiments that illuminate how to improve & support teams in making their own decisions on what to keep or discard.
