Tears in my eyes as I watch today's events in France. History is unfolding before us and please, pleade @SkyNews spare us your 1960s polytechnic conclusion that "inequality" is the root cause. Undoubtedly it's onecause but this is so much more than a socioeconomic phenomenon. There's nihilism, atomisation, political extremism, cultural relativism and, I absolutely believe, a spiritual darkness too. Pray for France. Pray, pray, pray.

“English has a unique spelling system because its words have origins in multiple languages… the different languages have different ways of pronouncing the words and this affects spelling.” Devin Kearns
This is a must-read article for any teacher who has said (or thought) “English is just crazy” and “many words just break the rule!” The fact is, only 4% of English words do not follow any known rule or spelling pattern while a whopping 96% of English words do!
Once you learn WHY words are spelled and pronounced the way they are, you’ll see that English is not crazy at all!! #SoRticle
