Worth noting Rocket Lab and Viasat are already teaming up in GEO with the Lightning-GEO platform for the Space Force:

Meanwhile Europe screams out for more constellations as part of the anyone-but-elon trade.

First 🇪🇺 Europe and now 🇨🇦 Canada but there are many more countries that have already stalled or halted their Starlink & Starshield decisions and will develop an alternative.
The Fallout for SpaceX is massive.

Tomorrow, SpaceX is scheduled to launch the Bandwagon-5 rideshare with 32 payloads to mid-inclination orbit NET 10:30 UTC. Here are the payloads on the stack identified. On top is SpaceX' 2nd Starfall capsule, which is the 1st time we've seen images of it in flight-configuration.
Teams encapsulated 32 payloads ahead of Falcon 9’s launch of the Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission from Florida → spacex.com/launches/bandwago…
Our Viasat Government team is excited for the next step with @NASA’s Communications Services Project (CSP). The Maxwell demo spacecraft launches Oct 19 on Bandwagon‑5 – a key move toward real‑time data relay for LEO missions.
Liftoff at 6:30 a.m. ET from Cape Canaveral! 🚀
This mission is important because it is demonstrating how @RocketLab and @viasat are setting the blueprint for the backbone of future space infrastructure.
So much of the Space Infrastructure of the Future™ is being built on, with, by, or around @RocketLab technology. It's why 30% of everything in space has a Rocket Lab logo on it.
Its less visible than consumer facing products like Starlink, but deep industry wide integration is what gives $RKLB a goated space systems business that is growing at 60% CAGR.
This random, unstructured threat has some technicals on the mission: xitter.cf/TobyDDRice/status/2107…

🚀Bottom line: The future of satellite networks is being built by Nasa, Viasat and Rocket Lab. Satellites will be able to connect like a cell phone: super simple, small, low power terminals, always on, real time, up to 10Mbps l-band. Accessing high data rate ka-band is as simple as logging into a website. The old system had a 1-hour delay and is closed to new customers. This real type system allows onboard processing and mesh control. Severs links to earth based networks. Nasa wants to connect Moon, Mars and other planets into the system in LEO, MEO, and GEO. Built on Rocket Lab Frontier radios.
When @RocketLab was around $4-$5 for 2 years, the vibe was: "Love the company, but is the stock ever going to move?"
Now it's seems the vibe is: "The stock price sucks AND I have serious doubts about Management/Neutron/Etc."
I don't remember anyone doubting the company itself or management in the $4s. People were still very bullish, and that's why I think sentiment is worse today than it was in 2022 - 2024.
Bad sentiment = weak hands saying goodbye 👋
I think we're oversold based on a combo of factors and (hope) we'll end the week back around ~$60. $RKLB 🤞 🚀

Replying to @planet4589 @avrnz
New TLEs show that K2612 made a manuever on Oct 16 and is now stationkeeping within 5 km or less of ICEYE X36. To my knowledge this is the first LEO rendezvous of two active satellites where the owner of one of the sats did not give approval.

🇵🇱 NEW: Poland is preparing to develop its own alternative to Elon Musk’s Starlink, potentially in cooperation with other European countries.
Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk revealed today that:
• Initial offers have already been received.
• Funding has been secured, according to the minister.
• The proposed technical architecture is being planned.
• A formal project announcement could come within the next few months.
The system would initially serve Poland’s military, followed by security services, government institutions and potentially the wider European market.
The announcement comes amid controversy over restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services used by Ukraine.
Tomczyk argued that Poland cannot remain dependent on a single individual controlling critical communications infrastructure.
Importantly, the project remains in the planning stage. No operational satellite network or final contract has been announced.

FCC docket 26-257 update
(Iridium → Rocket Lab transfer)
Comment/petition deadline (Oct 15) produced three notable filings:
• Hampton Roads Chamber: “we are writing to share our support for Rocket Lab’s acquisition of Iridium Communications and to encourage the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to grant rapid approval for this acquisition”
• SpaceX: “Iridium’s demand for veto power over its competitors’ use of critical, shared Ka-band spectrum reinforces serious concerns as to whether its proposed transaction with Rocket Lab is in the public interest.” (Notes Iridium withdrew its 116 petitions to block SpaceX backhaul; does not oppose the deal.)
• Ligado: Cites SpaceX that “Iridium exploits Commission procedure to deny or delay its competitors from providing better service to millions of American consumers, businesses, and first responders,” and says it has experienced the same tactics. Asks whether the application would “frustrate rather than advance competition for Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) offerings.”
No petitions to deny filed. Responses due Oct 30; replies Nov 9.

So you telling me $RKLB announced >60 Electron launches, > 5 Neutron Launch contract, Iridium acquisition, Flatellite Contract, Mynaric Acquisition completion, Motiv Acquisition, two other acquisitions and backlog reaching 3 Billion and everything other than that and we are down 25% YTD?
So, you are telling me $RKLB Rocket Lab delayed Neutron and stock was down only -5% ?
This video on the new "Trade Routes" in space is the nuts! Absolute must watch!
This orbital economy is going to need backbone infrastructure of everykind. I wonder who'll design, build, supply, operate, and launch all this hardware. $rklb $rdw $lunr

About ~$17M worth of @RocketLab terminals going up! (21x4x$200k)
A proud moment for Mynaric as our optical communications terminals head to space on NGC satellites supporting the SDA's PWSA. The future of space connectivity depends on fast, secure, and resilient optical comms networks, and we're honored to play a role in enabling that vision.
We’ve deployed 21 satellites for @SemperCitiusSDA’s Tranche 1 Transport Layer, supercharging secure, near‑real‑time connectivity and missile‑tracking data in a resilient LEO constellation. With 120+ PWSA satellites in work, we’re delivering capability at speed and scale. Learn more: news.northropgrumman.com/sat…

$RKLB - Clear Street Report:
Key Points:
Reset outlook. We pushed our Neutron launch schedule back three quarters, from a 4Q26E first flight to 3Q27E, and left Electron and Space Systems unchanged. By 2030E, Neutron reaches 15 launches instead of 20 which cuts Neutron revenue to $871M from $1,162M and total revenue by 9%. Our 2030E adj. EBITDA falls to $900M from $1,076M, about $176M or 16% lower.
A near-term setback in a growing market. The Neutron delay trims near- term revenue and extends cash burn, but the long-term opportunity is getting bigger, not smaller. Demand for medium-to-heavy lift is outrunning supply, and SpaceX (SPCX, Buy) is reportedly not taking Falcon 9 bookings beyond 2028, leaving customers few alternatives. Electron and Space Systems continue to perform, and getting Neutron right favors long-term reliability over a rushed debut. The payoff is still worth the wait.
RKLB/IRDM deal impact. In our assessment, the Iridium (IRDM, Neutral) deal should not weigh on today’s trading. With RKLB below the $67.50 collar floor, the exchange ratio is fixed at 0.4 RKLB shares per IRDM share, and the stock component is capped at ~42M shares, so we do not see the structure adding mechanical pressure on RKLB holders. We attribute today’s weakness mostly to the Neutron slip.
IRDM completes the full stack: We remain positive on the deal’s synergies. Pairing RKLB’s launch and satellite manufacturing with IRDM’s L-band spectrum, ~2.5M subscribers, and ~$500M of EBITDA would create a vertically integrated space operator if it closes (expected mid-2027, pending regulatory approvals)
$RKLB - Rocket Lab price target lowered to $105 from $129 at Clear Street
Clear Street analyst Greg Pendy lowered the firm's price target on Rocket Lab to $105 from $129 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares after the company said it expects Neutron's first launch in 2027 after voids were found in a forward propellant dome. The slip pushes out the firm's growth and profitability by three quarters, but the medium-lift opportunity is "only getting bigger," the analyst tells investors.
