The last month has been a bit of a rollercoaster. EPL to kick things off was an amazing experience, then it's been onto the RMRs, and just wrapped on Rio B stream. I feel very lucky to have had these opportunities to cast Tier 1 CS 🙏
But being in the spotlight isn't all roses. I want to take a moment to talk about what I have been through.
From HLTV threads, to Twitch chat, DMs, and replies to my posts - never in my life have I been exposed in such a way to the most hateful of people. It's been soul crushing, at a moment when I should feel on top of the world.
Yeah, I have sports mode on, I don't open Twitch, I avoid match threads. But I can't avoid it all, and regardless, it hurts just as much to know my colleagues, my friends, and the world will be reading the awful things people say.
I had a panic attack during broadcast for the first time in my life this week. Can you imagine that feeling, while waiting for the countdown to hit 0 to force a smile to tens of thousands of people that you feel are picking every inch of you apart? I never want to experience that again.
I recovered, and yesterday I think I did a pretty damn good job. As I think I did at the RMRs. I still have a long way to go, and I acknowledge that! I've been casting for barely over a year, and I'm going to continue to work hard to improve.
Anyway, I didn't want this to be a sympathy post. I just wanted to talk openly, because I can't just stand by and pretend it's okay. A little empathy wouldn't go astray. I'm just a person trying my best.
I also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent supportive messages. I read them all and they mean the world.
