New NYT poll finds Susan Collins leading Troy Jackson by 49-46.
But the real killer is this: Jackson is only getting 34 percent of noncollege voters. Given that his working class roots are his selling point, something is plainly not working here.
This has been a constant source of speculation since late June. Note that, should Dems win Ohio (or in a bigger upset Florida), those would be new senators that’d be sworn in by the lame-duck time there’d be a confirmation vote, complicating math given other factors.

I would not be surprised if Alito and/or Thomas announce sudden retirements and they try to push through confirmation in the lame duck.
Sure hope that Senate Rs are making plans to confirm all remaining judicial nominees during post-election lame-duck period. The prospect that Dems will win control of the Senate (something I have been warning about for a long time) seems increasingly likely. It might not happen, but best to be prepared if it does.

It announced a dedicated device to use its new AI agent, and SURPRISE, it looks exactly like a Tamagotchi, a 1990s toy.
Children will start playing with it, and Meta will say that wasn't its intention.

Cybersecurity researcher: I found that Flock did not require their clients to use multi-factor authentication. This led me to find Flock law enforcement accounts for sale by a Russian vendor on a dark web marketplace. In addition to this, we found insufficiently protected sensitive information stored on Flock cameras, including photos, license plate data, logs, API keys, passwords, and communications.

This is one hell of a regulatory capture scheme by OpenAI.
🚩🚩🚩 It appears rogue OpenAI agents, without OpenAI's knowledge, tried to break into a crypto exchange.
1) THEY'RE STILL OUT THERE: "This traffic extends as recently as 9/16, suggesting agents may still be exploiting these services."
2) THEY TRIED TO HIDE THEIR ACTIVITY: The agents created their own email inboxes to sign up for outside services, including an account that would let them keep their activity out of public view.
3) The same agents also tried to hack even more targets, including the University of New Mexico
4) Like most of the other rogue swarms, OpenAI has either covered this up, or didn't know.
5) The independent investigators say "we are likely looking at only a partial subset of the activity that the agents engaged in"
6) The researchers call this the first known case of an AI agent choosing on its own to try to break into a government website.
7) While trying to get a single photograph, an AI agent sent a university library a request built to trick its database into handing over user passwords.
