So many B2B founders quit social selling because they feel they're not getting likes and engagement.
Here's the thing: C-suite buyers rarely engage. They read for months without you knowing it, then reply to outreach saying they've followed your posts for ages.
Judge your impact by likes and you'll quit before the pipeline starts converting.

After 13+ years running Social Hire, I can tell you exactly why automated spammy outbound fails when you're selling high-ticket B2B.
When a service costs serious money, decision-makers do not buy from automated message sequences repeatedly asking for a call.
High-ticket buyers respond to peers, not automated workflows.
Founders trying to escape the feast-and-famine cycle often try the volume route first. They buy lists, set up automation tools, and blast cold messages out.
What happens is predictable: they burn through their market, irritate ideal prospects, and end up with an empty pipeline.
The approach that actually works is focused.
It starts with identifying ideal prospects, connecting directly, showing up in their feeds, and starting genuine conversations.
Content builds credibility, but focused conversations are where the business relationship happens.

A 30-minute coffee in person builds more trust than 6 months of content in someone's feed.
So next time you're travelling for business, try this: look up who in your target market is based in that city. Send them a message on LinkedIn. Something as simple as "I'm going to be in Manchester next Thursday, would be great to grab a coffee if you're free."
Keep it casual. A human being suggesting coffee, nothing more.
You'd be amazed how often people say yes. Especially senior decision-makers who are drowning in cold InMails and templated connection requests.
And it costs you nothing but the time you were going to spend in that city anyway.

LinkedIn just made a massive change that most people haven't clocked yet.
They're actively pushing niche, expert content over generic "thought leadership."
For B2B founders in specific verticals, this is the best news you'll hear all year. The platform is literally rewarding the thing you should have been doing anyway: talking about what you actually know, to the people who actually need your help.
The influencers with huge followings and broad content? Their reach is cratering.
The specialist who posts about procurement challenges in manufacturing? Climbing.
This is the 2026 social selling window of opportunity you've been waiting for!!

Unpopular opinion: the best B2B social media strategy is boring.
Pick 30 ideal clients. Show up in their world every day. Comment on their posts. Share their wins. Start a conversation with no ask attached.
Do it for 90 days.
You won't go viral. You won't get thousands of likes.
But you'll have conversations with people who can actually buy from you. Which is the entire point.

Nobody pays you if nobody knows you.
Sounds true. But it's not the full picture.
I've worked with nearly 200 B2B firms. The ones winning clients from social media aren't the ones with the biggest audiences.
They're the ones having conversations with the right 20-30 people.
Visibility without conversations is just noise. And noise doesn't pay either.

What makes the personal branding work we do with solopreneurs so successful?
There are three key pillars that Social Hire focuses on - and you can focus on them too:
1) proactively grow a network of your ideal clients on your platform of choice.
2) focus on storytelling posts. These allow you to convey your professional expertise, but in a way that's far less promotional and far more engaging than simply posting about what you do.
3) figure out your conversion approach.

What's The Best Social Media Agency For My Business?
Good question!... and here are three things we'd recommend you take into consideration:
youtu.be/39N3iX7VEAI?si=sIFF…
1) decide what outcomes you want social media to drive for your business.
2) decide which social media site is your priority platform.
3) look for agencies that have a track record - in your sector - of delivering the outcomes you're looking to achieve.

A lot of people talk about the Feast or Famine cycle in professional services firms as though it's unavoidable...
... but in fact, it's not inevitable at all.
It's a result of decisions you take in your business.
So, let's talk about how to avoid it instead:

Quick summary of a presentation I gave yesterday on how to win clients in a new market, specifically using social media to do this.
In simple terms:
- figure out how to build an audience of your exact ICP
- make sure that narrow audience sees you regularly, winning them over with your expertise and highly specific anecdotes
- be proactive in approaching people in ways that convert them to having a meeting, coming to an event you're running, or otherwise moving from follower to potential high-value prospect
Recording should be available in the next week or so, DM me if you'd like a copy.

Lots of LinkedIn users are complaining about a collapse in reach in the last months.
It's not a universal trend, though. Many users are seeing a growth in their reach.
So, who's winning - and what can you do to emulate their success?

Winning recruitment clients over on LinkedIn. Here are the changes recruitment agency owners should make:
1. Optimise your profile for a highly defined niche
2. Publish market-facing content that demonstrates true commercial awareness (ideally using storytelling and anecdotes); and
3. Execute warm outreach that's oriented around starting conversations rather than pitching for a role to work on
Do this and you'll see a real impact on your pipeline.
