1/ Curing aging will NOT cause the population explosion people imagine.
It sounds obvious: fewer deaths = overcrowding.
But that's not how demography works. We have actually modeled this. 🧵

Explain to me how we can afford doing nothing against aging: "a slowdown in aging that increases life expectancy by 1 year is worth US$38 trillion, and by 10 years, US$367 trillion." Aging, is it really worth it?

Blaming and shaming doesn't stop people from making mistakes. It stops them from admitting mistakes.
If people can't share their blunders, they can't learn from them—and neither can the rest of us.
The best way to prevent errors is to make it safe for people to discuss them.

Say you are developing drugs for Alzheimer’s, people love it.
Say you are developing drugs for cancer, people love it.

We need to change the public’s perception of ageing research.

Will the world wake up only when it is too late? Children are not the solution, at least not the main one, to an overaging society. Aging research is.

Entrepreneurs should be taught to think like scientists and run experiments with hypotheses.
This doesn't come naturally, but, when founders learn how to do it, they generate more revenue and are less likely to pursue bad ideas, as this experiment shows. pubsonline.informs.org/doi/a…

🤯 I still cannot get over this Bing AI example.
The riddle was posed in base64, which it figured out alone.
It decoded the base64 step-by-step and discovered the instructions with math to be solved.
It solved the math unlocking the true riddle.
Finally it solved the riddle.
