I see many wondering why the No Kings rallies are not as confrontational or angry as protests in France, Albania etc, and have no concrete demands It’s because No Kings participants are certain the Democrats will sweep the midterms, and their only demand is that we vote Democrat These are purely get out the vote rallies for a Democrat Party that is still generally pro-war, pro-Israel, and corporate friendly They are filled with boomerlibs hypnotized by MSNOW and first term Trump era Russiagate propaganda. Once the Dems take power, they go back to brunch. Any more radical demands are sure to be diluted within the partisan No Kings morass, or shut down by a lady wearing a shirt that says “Resist.”

i dont understand why people keep repeating this as if its relevant to this case. yes in a usual rape case where a woman is saying no and isnt listened to you would be correct. but there was ongoing enthusiastic consent through the whole thing, including things she said she did not want to do. at no point did she say “no” & they didnt respect it. every time she said no or yes or stop to something they listened. thats why the NY governor is currently trying to move the goalposts to say someone cannot consent while intoxicated. because she DID consent to it all at the time but they were all drunk/high.

• The US and West had an opportunity for diplomacy in February 2014 before the coup and forfeited the chance. • We had the chance for peace again by implementing the 2015 MINSK accords and failed to do so. • We had a chance to prevent the war in December 2021 and failed. We had a chance to end the war with diplomacy in Istanbul 2022 and rejected it. • We had a chance in June 2024 and rejected it. • We had a chance with the United States in Anchorage, Alaska in 2025, and rejected it. Every time we had a chance for peace, Russia continued to be willing to give and take in diplomatic engagement, yet we rejected it, instead choosing war – which continues to result in the absolute destruction of the Ukrainian nation. Those are all choices we made, rejecting diplomacy at every chance, embracing war, to the demise of the men and women of Ukraine. It will be a shame and a stain on Western history, possibly for centuries to come.
I think the U.S. really wants to stop Russia’s war. I trust them. Then, I understand it's difficult to stop somebody who’s big and doesn't want to stop. That's why you're trying to find some compromises with Russia. But I think we are losing time if we want to play with Russian compromises. Because if Putin sees you can support something, he will try to give you another idea, some other issues and new conditions. New government – new conditions. Leaders in Europe change? New conditions. The U.S. policy? President Trump appeared – very strong – new conditions. He is trying to be very polite. Now the United States faces a challenge in the Middle East - negotiations with Iran. You will see new conditions from Russia. President Trump wants to have some kind of victory before the midterms. But Putin will do everything to push the Iranians and make this whole situation non-negotiable. The same with Russia’s war against Ukraine. If Putin sees that President Trump needs some victory, he will decide what to give and what not to give. And this is the problem – Putin started to think that it is he who can decide. But America is one hundred times stronger than Russia. Absolutely. They just have to remember that. From an interview with Reuters. (3/3)

apparently none of our politicians are capable of thinking through the logical consequences of the policies they advocate. We really have some of the dumbest government officials in the world. Not that we didn't know that before this incident

According to an informed federal official, in the coming months the Trump administration plans to send a total of 40,000 Mark 84 and Blu-117 bombs to the government of Israel. Each bomb weighs 2,000 pounds. This appears to be the largest transfer of conventional explosive ordnance from the United States in modern history. How big is this shipment? It amounts to 40,000 tons of bombs. For perspective, the largest American air raid of World War Two was the Eighth Air Force’s attack on Berlin in March of 1945. Combined, the 2,023 Allied aircraft involved dropped about 3,000 tons of bombs. That’s 7.5 percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. That same month, March of 1945, the US Army Air Forces began the single most destructive bombing raid in human history, Operation Meetinghouse over Tokyo. More than 100,000 Japanese civilians were killed. By the end of that operation, the US had dropped 1,600 tons of bombs. That’s four percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. World War Two ended five months later, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. The shipment Trump is sending to Israel amounts to more than three times the destructive power of that nuclear explosion. There is no precedent for what the Trump administration is doing. Nor is there a justification. The government of Israel is not fighting World War Two, or even a war. It is engaged in periodic skirmishes with a guerrilla force in Lebanon, and it is working to exterminate an unarmed civilian population in Gaza. Neither front requires modern 2,000-pound bombs. An American-made Mark 84 has a destruction radius of half a mile. It releases a thermal wave the temperature of the surface of the sun. Within 100 feet of the explosion, rock melts and human flesh turns to vapor. The bomb collapses apartment buildings and leaves craters thirty-five feet deep. Until the war with Iran, the US military generally avoided using the Mark 84 in urban areas. It kills too many civilians. For the Netanyahu government, that’s been the upside. In the weeks after October 7, the IDF dropped nearly six hundred 2,000-pound bombs on densely populated areas in Gaza, including on more than 100 officially designated civilian evacuation zones. The slaughter was so grotesque and embarrassing that for a moment the Biden administration paused a shipment of Mark 84s. Those shipments quickly resumed under Trump. Now they’ve accelerated. It’s hard to overstate the scale of the crime the Israeli government is committing in Gaza. Over the last three years, more than a quarter-million Palestinians have been killed or wounded by Israeli forces there. The majority of them have been noncombatants: women, the elderly and tens of thousands of children. Many thousands more remain missing, presumably entombed under the rubble of 200,000 collapsed buildings. So far the Israelis have destroyed 92 percent of all homes in Gaza, and 34 of the 36 hospitals. By comparison, the 1945 Allied bombings of Dresden, now acknowledged as a war crime, destroyed about half of the city’s inhabited buildings. By any definition, what the Netanyahu government has done in Gaza is genocide. The 40,000 new bombs the Trump administration is sending will be used to do the same in Lebanon, and likely in other countries in the region. If you wanted to extend the Iran war into the indefinite future, this is exactly what you’d do. So far none of this has received public scrutiny. At some point, inevitably, it will be described in media accounts as an “arms sale.” It is not an arms sale. It is a gift, funded by American taxpayers through the Foreign Military Financing program, an arrangement designed to disguise welfare as capitalism: Congress appropriates money to the executive branch, which transfers the cash to Israel to “buy” American-made weapons, in this case from General Dynamics. Politicians claim this is a win for America. Most voters have no idea they paid for it. The bill in this case is about $3 billion. Add that to the $352 billion the US Treasury has transferred to Israel since 1951. How did this happen? The request for 40,000 new high-explosive civilian-killing bombs originated at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, which is run by Christian Zionist Ambassador Mike Huckabee and his aide David Milstein, who is the stepson of Fox News host Mark Levin. From there it moved to the State Department, where Marco Rubio enthusiastically approved it. At this point, only four more people need to sign off before the bombs ship to Israel: Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen, the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; and Congressmen Brian Mast and Gregory Meeks, the top two members of the equivalent House committee. All four are committed neocons. Collectively they’ve taken millions from the Israel lobby. In 2015, Brian Mast traveled to Israel to volunteer for the Israeli military. In 2023, Mast showed up in the House of Representatives wearing an IDF uniform. It’s hard to imagine any of them hesitating before sending more free bombs to Israel. Only public outrage can stop this.

This man's name is Rick Rescorla. 22 years ago today, Rick disobeyed orders, and saved 2700 lives. Rick was the head of security for Morgan Stanley in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He warned that the Towers' basements were vulnerable to attack. His warnings fell on deaf ears. Then the 1993 attack happened, and people started listening to him. After that attack, Rick implemented regular evacuation drills, using his megaphone to direct the thousands of employees out of their offices, down the stairwells, and out of the building to safety. Born in Cornwall, Rick would sing Welsh and Cornish songs from his megaphone, as he directed the employees out of the building. He would routinely tell all of the employees: in an emergency, no matter what chaos is happening around you, no matter what anyone tells you, leave your offices, go down the stairwells, and leave the building. Rick told his wife Susan that he suspected another attack on the World Trade Center would happen, this time by air. And 22 years ago today, on September 11, 2001, that attack happened. When the first plane hit the North Tower, the Port Authority announced over the South Tower's speaker system "Please do not leave the building. This area is secure." Rick ignored them. "The dumb sons of b------s told me not to evacuate," he said to his best friend Dan. "They said it's just Building One. I told them I'm getting my people the f--k out of here." And so Rick picked up his megaphone as he had done so many times before, told his employees not to listen to the orders, and directed them out of the building. His Cornish songs helped keep their nerves calm as they evacuated, even after the second plane hit their Tower. Once he had successfully evacuated his employees, Rick went back to look for survivors. But first, he called his wife Susan. "Stop crying. I have to get these people out safely. If something should happen to me, I want you to know I've never been happier. You made my life." Rick rushed back to the South Tower. That was the last time anyone saw him alive. All but 6 of the more than 2700 Morgan Stanley employees survived. Had they obeyed the Port Authority, they would all be dead. Thankfully, they listened to Rick instead. Rest in Peace, Rick. Thank you for your service.
