The English PhD hubbub is pretty on the nose. As a professional narrative designer, niche study of making meaning is super valuable. It expands my craft and adds to my toolbox. Sometimes, it's the weirdly-specific tool that you want to put the perfect finish on a job.

You don't have to agree with all the cultural analysis or framework of a work to get something out of it. But, understanding how a tool was used -- or might have been used -- can inform how you swing it around.

Worked on this one for about a year. It’s great to see how it’s grown and become even cuter and cozier! 💛

Talking to a student at a CalArts event last night. STUDENT: Industry is so broken. ME: Sure. It breaks all the time. Then guess what happens? The brave and bold build it back up with new things. This too shall pass. Patience, grass hopper. STUDENT: So what can I do? ME: Get better and survive. Your day will come.

The Australien Government and the Opposition have made an ad about electoral reforms, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative (and they're hoping you don't hear about it) #auspol

Labor’s missed opportunities: - Not legislating @zalisteggall’s truth in political advertising bill - No Murdoch Royal Commission - No media misinformation laws - No significant action on pressing cost of living issues - Long Referendum campaign - Ongoing decay in ABC 1/2

So, this is what I've been working on all year. Leave it to Wētā Workshop to make a teaser trailer hotter than a Balrog's vindaloo. But cosy.
Your cosy Hobbit life awaits in Tales of the Shire, a heart-warming new The Lord of the Rings™ game by Wētā Workshop and Private Division. Coming 2024.

Stonking great essay from Tim Colwill on 40K. History, meaning-making, counter-culture run through the money mill... Give it a look. Long, but zippy, smart writing.

Check out this gorgeous, minimalist strategy game. I helped a bit on the narrative side and with some of the characters. You can check it out in early access right now.

This looks so fun! Is missile air-juggling a thing? How did I not know this is a thing?
He thought he was safe by hiding behind his huge shield while firing missiles...

I feel there's a great pun lurking here. Maybe something about "getting an extension to really plug the game". The Powerhoof guys are wizards.
Why's The Drifter taking so long? It's a small team + big game... but also because I find it too fun spending a day on unnecessary polish like dragging around this extension cord
