Raiders fall to Valwood Valiants 22-14 in an exciting match, bringing Southland's record to 2-4 this season.
This was the second season in a row that Americus-Sumter took down the visiting Bulldogs in an early-season contest.
Americus-Sumter was victorious in their home opener 28-23 over Macon County. The Panthers improve to 1-1 this season.
Southland falls in their home opener 32-20 to Robert Toombs. With the loss, the Raiders fall to 0-2 this season.
At the half, Americus-Sumter trails Marion 18-14, unofficially. Panthers were down 18-0 after one quarter.
Americus-Sumter's football preview is in today's edition. Southland Academy will be next week (8/15), and Schley County will follow (8/22)!
