Some legacies don’t come with trophies. Sometimes they come with a coffee mug, a Miller can, and a set of keys under one hanging kitchen light. My new book, There’s an E at the End, is out now. It’s the story of growing up in working-class Massachusetts after my mother left and the father who stayed. He didn’t say too much. But through discipline, humor, work, baseball, and the way he showed up every day, he taught me how to endure. Baseball was never just a game in our house. It was our language for resilience, loyalty, and the lessons fathers pass down when words fall short. If you were shaped by a dad, grandfather, coach, or mentor who loved quietly and showed up steadily, this book is for you. Amazon: amazon.com/Theres-End-Father… What quiet lesson did your dad or coach leave you? #BaseballMemoir #FathersLegacy #SandlotLegacy

The 2022 baseball recruiting class got screwed from the start. They walked into the NIL explosion, fought for playing time behind COVID super-seniors, navigated nonstop transfer chaos, and didn’t even have full scholarships until THIS YEAR. Now the new 5-to-play-5 rule gives every younger class a full extra season while they get cut off at 4. Fair fix: True 4th-year seniors deserve ONE optional 5th year at their current school only. No transferring for the extra year. Minimal impact. @NCAABaseball @NCAA
NEWS: NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.

The #1 question dads ask me: “Coach, does my son have what it takes for college ball?” Answer after 35 years: Does he love baseball more than the highlight reel? Skills can be taught. Obsession cannot.

The best story in East Tennessee college baseball is being told in Seymour. Former Tennessee skipper Dave Serrano has taken a five-win team and turned it into a top-5 program. In three years, @JURoyals_BB has gone from afterthought to the brink of becoming a national power.

Nathan Reed | 6’4” 200 lbs | Sophomore RHP Physical 6’4” frame with durable 200 lb build, Reed brings a starter’s presence and the ability to carry stuff deep into outings. Logged 49.2 IP with a 66% strike rate, showing consistent ability to fill the zone and work ahead. Fastball sits 88–90 T91 with late-game velo retention—doesn’t fall off as outings progress. Mixes a 75–76 changeup and 78–80 slider, both thrown confidently for strikes in any count, giving him a true 3-pitch mix to keep hitters off balance. Struck out 45 over 49.2 IP (8.15 K/9) while limiting walks (18 BB), backing a 1.47 WHIP. Competitor on the mound who attacks hitters and trusts his arsenal. Uncommitted arm with size, feel for three pitches, and the ability to land everything in the zone. @nathanreed1515 @tnballplayers @UncommittedUTR @CoastRecruits @TopPreps @BUncommitted @uncommittedBBs @JUCOuncommitted @jucoroute @2YearBaseball @Juco_Spotlight @u_prospect @DiamondAddicts @TnYankees @uncommittedBB8 @TopPreps @SportPrepX @raj_manjrekar @UBAuncommitted @ETNbaseballguru @D1ProScouts #Uncommitted #Baseball #d1 #MLB #Juco
