Have you heard of the term biophilia? The innate tendency to form connections with nature has been present since the beginning of time. Connecting with nature is something that doesn’t have to be done just by going outside, but by using natural elements in your home too.

Happy #ArborDay! Robert Furnas, born in Troy, OH (just north of Dayton, TFF's headquarters), became one of first governors of Nebraska and helped originate Arbor Day.
Furnas said in 1894, “The work of tree planting, inspired by the existence of Arbor day, is simply wonderful.”
TFF can create educational and promotional videos like the one below, produced for Banks Hardwoods, a premier hardwoods supplier headquartered in White Pigeon, MI. Video like this not only help promote individual companies, but the industry as a whole.

Architects found the oldest known wooden structure, almost half a million years old! The “Lincoln-log” structure shows the cognitive sophistication of humans from 476,000 years ago, and that humans were using wood to create structuress around that time. cnn.com/2023/09/20/africa/ol…
TFF serves hardwood, softwood, and lumber companies and organizations by developing educational videos and campaigns promoting sustainability and the health benefits of specifying timber and hardwood, highlighting responsible forest management.

This is backwards thinking. Over the course of a year, 100 trees can remove 53 tons of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. Instead of cutting them down just to bury them, it is more beneficial to render the logs into beautiful hardwood products that store carbon forever.
Bill Gates and other investors are betting Kodama Systems can reduce carbon dioxide in the air by chopping down and burying trees. Now if only Uncle Sam would get on board with tax credits, too. trib.al/BHCkwmE

In the late part of the 1800s most of the lumber supply went towards building railroads. As the 1900s approached, more lumberyards were being built which began the lumber industry. The Industrial Revolution aided in this movement as lumber yards became more popular.

The forestry industry has been one of the most sustainable industries to date. Wood is one of the best renewable resources around that provides beauty, durability, and structure to everyday life.

Always makes me think of twins reaching for the stars.
The timber industry does a great service to forests by removing trees that are soon to die, which allows for new growth without the debris of the old trees.

Ash trees are endangered due to the Emerald Ash Borer. Ash trees are magnificent in so many ways, one being that they have been called the ‘lightning tree” because they continue to grow after lightning strikes.

“I cannot tell a lie… I did cut it with my hatchet,”-George Washington. Cherry trees have been used for centuries in people’s homes as well as instruments, from piano keys to drumsticks, cherry is right under our noses.

Utilizing sustainable forestry practices can help preserve forests for years to come. One example is selective harvesting, only having specific trees cut down in order to support the forest.
