Benjamin Netanyahu stood before the UN General Assembly a few weeks ago denouncing the characterization of Zionism as a settler-colonial project, attempting to discredit it by branding it antisemitic.
But the evidence is there. The historical record speaks for itself.
Watch this video citing evidence from more than 120 years ago.
The Zionist project, from its very inception, has exhibited the defining features of settler colonialism:
• Settler-colonial: establishing a new political entity through the settlement and colonization of an inhabited land.
• Exclusivist: claiming exclusive national rights and sovereignty in a land inhabited by an indigenous population.
• Racist: institutionalizing discrimination and domination based on identity.
• Supremacist: privileging one national group over the rights of another.
• Dispossessive: uprooting the indigenous Palestinian population from its homeland.
• Replacement-oriented: replacing the indigenous population, in whole or in part, with Jewish settlers to engineer a demographic majority.
• Violent: employing force, expulsion and dispossession, including the commission of war crimes and genocide, to impose and sustain the project.
These are not disconnected characteristics. They are interlocking dimensions of a single colonial enterprise.
What else is required to establish the settler-colonial nature of the Zionist project?
Netanyahu can denounce the term, but he cannot rewrite history. He can brand the indictment antisemitic, but he cannot refute the evidence.
They can smear the accusers. They cannot silence the evidence—especially when it comes from the Zionist movement’s own history, more than 120 years ago.

🇺🇸 The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating smashed windows at a Capital One branch on Manhattan's Upper East Side, where "PAL ACTION" and "DROP ELBIT" were spray-painted early Monday. No one was hurt and no arrests have been reported.
A group identifying itself as Palestine Action claimed responsibility. "Do business with Elbit, and we will cost you money," it told NBC New York. Capital One has faced protests over a reported $90 million loan to Elbit Systems, Israel's largest weapons maker, complicit in the genocide in Gaza and war crimes across the region. The Trump administration designated the UK-based Palestine Action a “terrorist” group in August.
New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin said she urged police to treat the attack on a bank as a possible “antisemitic hate crime.” Neither the graffiti nor the group's statement mentions Jews or Judaism. Under New York law, a hate crime requires that a target be chosen because of a protected trait such as race or religion. Capital One is a Virginia-based bank, and the stated target was its business with an arms company.
NYC Council Speaker Julie Menin on this morning’s vandalism of a Capital One branch on the Upper East Side, where windows were smashed and graffiti reading “DROP ELBIT” and “PAL ACTION” was left on the entrance:
“What the NYPD is doing now is they're investigating it as a hate crime. They're gonna do a fast investigation; we appreciate their work on this, and the community is deeply concerned and upset about it.”

This is what it looks like to cower before authoritarianism. You don't call out a white supremacist president even when he uses classically antisemitic language because you're afraid he'll retaliate against you. jewishcurrents.org/the-shame…
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The term was used (for at least the second intent in as many years) by President Trump.

Important context to point out the user of the term regardless of intent.

🔺NEW: Bronx protest against settlement land sales sets up a new test for Mamdani's NYPD
Pal-Awda NY/NJ is calling a protest Saturday in Riverdale, in the Bronx, against an event sponsored by My Israel Home, a real estate agency the group says markets homes in East Jerusalem and West Bank settlements.
The Palestinian rights group says it pushed a Nefesh B'Nefesh Israeli settler recruitment fair out of New York City last week. The Oct. 11 event was moved from Queens to Long Island.
The group is pressing New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose office has said such sales violate international law, to stop the events. In May, Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch's NYPD closed six blocks around Manhattan's Park East Synagogue to shield a settlement real estate expo from protesters.
SHUT DOWN THE SALE OF STOLEN PALESTINIAN LAND IN THE BRONX‼️
📆 Saturday, October 24
⏰ 8pm
📍Riverdale, Bronx (exact location TBA)
‘My Israel Home,’ a Zionist real estate agency, is sponsoring “an inspiring & practical evening about your future in Israel.” The "israeli" real estate agency promotes settlements in occupied Palestine that have been built on the ruins of #StolenPalestinianLand, including several East Jerusalem & West Bank settlements.
Following last week's victory of pushing Nefesh B’ Nefesh’s settler recruitment fair out of NYC, we’re back to taking the streets to protest the sale of stolen Palestinian land. We will continue to confront the genocidal pipeline of settlement that is being promoted in our city & our neighborhoods. All out to the Bronx this Saturday!
More information to be shared soon-stay tuned.

💵 President Donald Trump announced an $8 billion program to help American farmers cover soaring diesel costs during harvest season, as the war on Iran drives up fuel prices.
Diesel now averages about $6.32 a gallon, up from $3.63 a year ago, according to AAA. Farm-state Republicans had pressed the administration to act.
The Agriculture Department's Harvest Fuel Relief Program will make one-time payments to farmers, funded through the Commodity Credit Corporation, with rates to be released next month.
Trump announced the aid Monday at a Kansas rally for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, who faces a toss-up race against Democrat Adam Hamilton two weeks before the midterms. Trump credited Marshall with getting it approved.
.@POTUS IN KANSAS: "I'm also pleased to announce that @USDA will be launching a new Harvest Fuel Relief Program, providing our farmers with $8B in support to offset diesel costs during this harvest season— and @RogerMarshallMD is the leader who fought for that to happen."

🇫🇷 With France gripped by protests and riots over fuel and living costs, French President Emmanuel Macron spent Tuesday in the Gulf, securing what his office said was an extra 100,000 tonnes of diesel a month each from the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, Semafor reported.
Including Saudi deliveries, France now has Gulf commitments of 295,000 tonnes a month, just over 10% of its consumption, the Élysée said.
In Abu Dhabi, Macron and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed signed a strategic defense partnership, including an agreement on the next-generation Rafale F5 fighter jet and cooperation on future combat aircraft, AI, and space. The UAE is sponsoring genocide and mass rape in Sudan through its backing of the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary.
Back home, the government plans to deploy the military alongside police for protests Saturday, while presidential election polling data by Elabe shows far-right leader Marine Le Pen gaining ground, as Macron's ratings slip.

🇫🇷 French police have left protesters with injuries that human rights lawyers told outlets compare to those seen in conflict zones, as a student uprising over crumbling schools and the cost of living enters its fifth week.
Over Saturday and Sunday alone, French outlets StreetPress, Index and ViolencesPolicières(dot)fr collected several hundred videos and testimonies. Cases they documented include:
🔸 A 17-year-old in Saint-Étienne whose hand was torn off by a police grenade
🔸 A 17-year-old girl in Mulhouse who lost the sight in her left eye after being hit by a tear gas grenade
🔸 Protesters in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg and Besançon beaten with batons and kicked while on the ground, including one held in a chokehold
France's police watchdog has opened at least 36 investigations into police violence against high school protesters. Christophe Calvao, president of the Paris Young Lawyers' Union, denounced "an increasingly systematic use of crowd-control measures that would normally be reserved for much more serious situations."
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez has said police "must be able to use all intermediate weapons," and on Tuesday vowed to "step up" for the next mobilization. France Unbowed leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon said his party and unions know how to keep marches peaceful by deploying hundreds of volunteers, adding: "We could at least expect police to do something other than fire indiscriminately into the crowd."
Melenchon also noted that most European countries ban such grenades, and that Nuñez suspended them only to reinstate them "not even 48 hours" later.

intelligence like “iran is seconds away from a nuke” or “don’t worry iraq will be no problem just like afghanistan” or “iran will be toppled in a day, just kill the 87 yo ayatollah.” seems self serving & not worth 380bn + destruction of the region at the behest of israeli primacy
